A unique three day workshop to teach you all you about the bridal business and the making of bridal and special occasion wear, whether it be on a personal or professional level. The construction of the gown will be discussed in detail and samples will be made that relate to interlined couture boned lace bodices with, netted skirts, concealed zips, hemlines and much more. No longer will the dress have wrinkly bodices or droopy skirts. We will also produce samples that relate to veils, and bridal favours. Information will be given regarding stockists and suppliers and pricing your gowns. This workshop is a must for all of those planning a wedding or those in the bridal business. You need to be a confident dressmaker for this workshop. Material costs: Students will need to supply some fabrics for this class, specialist fabrics are included in the course fee.

A three day workshop to make a dress using couture techniques. The dress will be underlined with hand finished seams and hand prepared zipper applications. Sleeve insertion using sleeve heads. invisible hems and hand inserted linings. these techniques can be applied to many dresses but work best on classic styles. Take your sewing a whole new level. Material costs: You will need to supply your pattern and fabric, suitable underlinings will be available to purchase

Five sessions to learn the basics of pattern drafting. Working to your own measurements you will make blocks for the skirt, bodice, dress and trouser. Discover how to move darts and design your own patterns. To benefit fully from this workshop extra work needs to be done between sessions. Material costs: You will need to purchase a text book and drafting equipment for this workshop. Drafting paper and tracing paper are included in the course fee. A two day workshop to achieve that perfect pair of trousers. You will work from a commercial pattern and shape the trouser leg, crutch and waist for your body measurements and comfort. You will then make the trousers in calico and perfect the fit. Once this has been achieved we will make you a paper pattern. On day two we will go on and make the trousers in a fabric of your own choice and discover how to make a fly front zip and waist and hem finishes. Three totally self indulgent days to get away from it all and sew. No interruptions just plenty of help, guidance and advice on hand whenever you need it.
