Decontamination System

For sterilization of a particular target area, whether it be a clean room or isolator, choose the HYDEC Decontamination System. The HYDEC can be purchased as a stand-alone or portable unit. The HYDEC unit can be attached to an isolator and used for applications and equipment such as: sterility testing, small scale clinical filling, biohazard products, chemical hazards, hospital preparation, mixed injection, and CPC - research and production. Extensive research has been conducted by Shibuya to perfect the decontamination process. Our microbiologists work with our customers to optimize the cycle development. Shibuya developed the HYDEC implementing a more advanced process than the traditional decontamination systems. The HYDEC uses a one time injection of vaporized H2O2 to accommodate the volume and surface area of the target material. Shibuya offers various models to accommodate target size area and applications. HYDEC AdvantagesNo preconditioning (e.g. temperature and humidity control) of target area requiredContinuous replenishment of H2O2 during the process is not necessaryUses up to 40% less H2O2 than our competitionDecontamination cycle times faster than our competition, as short as 15 minutes!HYDEC is environmentally friendly since H2O2 breaks down into water and oxygen.HYDEC can be used as stand-alone or integrated into an Isolator

Centrifugal Feeder Systems

We design a wide range of prefeeders to compliment our Hoppmann Centrifugal feeders. These prefeeders range in size and style to accommodate virtually any part variation. They are easily integrated with existing or new equipment. The centrifugal feeders are designed to singulate, orient and qualify parts, and provide maximum product efficiency to downstream operations. Centrifugal feeders are often referred to as unscramblers, sorters, or rotary bowls, because of the way they work. The feeder bowl rim is set to rotate at one speed, while at the same time the center disc rotates at a faster speed. This helps the product in the feeder to load onto the rotating rim with ease. As the feeder rim rotates, tooling positioned along the feeder backup ring helps to singulate, qualify, orient, and inspect the product before releasing it. Often parts are pre qualified in the feeder bowl and once the parts exit the feeder they are reoriented by the use of external tools, for example: c-track, twist track, zig zag track, transfer wheels, etc. When final exit orientation is achieved, the product is released to a downstream conveying or accumulating system. Typical Feeder System Shibuya Hoppmann manufactures a full range of feeder sizes, including specialty feeders for unique applications. For bottles or cylindrical parts, our custom scallop feeders are designed and equipped to handle your parts without damage to the product. Auxiliary equipment can be easily integrated to the scallop feeder, like ionizing air systems. Other specialty feeders include our pharmaceutical feeders which are designed to run in clean rooms andor within an isolator. Continuous developments are being made to our Hoppmann Centrifugal Feeder product line. These include improvements such as platform tooling, modular or no-tool changeover, and our new heavy duty feeder, which is set to handle small metal parts (screws, nails, etc.) for our expanding automotive market.

Robotics

Shibuya Hoppmanns Robot Isolator termed CellPro, is a system designed to replace human operators in sterile-manufacturing processes that carry the risk of contaminating sensitive products or harming personnel. The system includes Shibuyas rigid wall isolator, Shibuyas decontamination system called the HYDEC and robots, which are specially designed to resist hydrogen peroxide. Shibuya and Fanuc collaborated on the robot design to allow for the robot to function in ISO 5 environments without contributing a significant amount of particulates under typical working conditions. Design features such as internal air purge, special seals at all joints, hydrogen peroxide resistant covers, enclosed electrical cables and lack of retention areas help resist bacterial growth on the robots and reduce the potential for contamination all under aseptic conditions. CellPro can incorporate multiple robots inside the isolator depending on the application required. Shibuya has designed a unique control system for the robots within the isolator utilizing hand-held controllers similar to the Nintendo Wii. This patented solution allows the operator to control the robots remotely and even train precise tasks which the robot duplicates based on the operators movement. With Shibuyas state-of-the-art decontamination system, termed HYDEC, integrated into the Robot Isolator, aseptic conditions can be achieved in shorter time periods and utilizing less hydrogen peroxide than conventional systems. With this advantage as well as utilizing robots, the CellPro can increase operator safety by compounding potent drugs, manufacturing radiopharmaceuticals or handling cytotoxic ingredients. CellPro also reduces contamination risk in aseptic environments by replacing humans in cell-culturing, sterility testing and aseptic-processing applications. The collaboration between Shibuya and FANUC is one example of the technological advances that can improve safety, quality and efficiency in packaging machinery. Various applications for this system include:Cell and tissue processingChemical hazardous operationRadioactive products handlingNew virus researchAseptic culture of animals and plants cellShibuya developed the worlds first H2O2 resistant robot and the first H2O2 resistant robotic parts feeding solution in 2004.
