All dampers are available installed. Specify the fitting to receive the damper. Please note that the fitting length is modified to accept the damper.

Part numbers shown represent the standard Large End (D2). The Small End (D1) must be specified when ordering. Example: When ordering a 86 Concentric Reducer, the standard part number shown below is 2-08413XX. Specifying the required D1 changes the part number to 2-0841306.

The chemical inertness of PVS combined with the strength of Spiral pipe make Vinyl Coated Duct ideal for chemical fume removal applications and for underground HVAC applications where strength and resistance to corrosive salts and other minerals found in backfill are prerequisites. Our vinyl-coated Spiral pipe is UL listed and manufactured from galvanized steel coated with a polyvinyl chloride material with an outside thickness of 4 mils and inside thickness of 1 mil standard. This is reversible for special purposes. External corrugations are standard for over 14 diameter for underground applications. Standard gauges are: 4 to 1624 gauge, 17 to 2422 gauge, 26 to 4820 gauge. Standard Lengths 5 and 10 foot.

The first, and simplest method, is by using Slip Joints. Since all spiral pipe ends are female, and all spiral pipe fittings are male, they can be easily slipped together and fastened. However many installations have additional performance requirements, and to meet these requirements a number of Flange-to-Flange connection methods have been developed. Spiral Manufacturing offers a complete array of both slip joint and flange joint options to meet any system requirements, and we offer technical assistance to help you choose the best option for your application.

Longitudinal seams which run horizontally on the duct sections are important because these locks must hold the duct pieces securely and tightly and should not leak under pressure. They can be readily and swiftly put together on the job or in the shop.

The common type of longitudinal seam is the Pittsburgh Lock Seam. Originally formed in the brake or press brake, today roll forming machines are used to form the pocket on one piece and the flange on the other piece. After one piece is inserted in the pocket, the tail in hammered over to close the lock.

The Button Punch Snap Lock is a recent innovation. Originally, the continuous snap lock was used on light gauge stove and furnace pipe to permit shipping nested. The pipe section was then snapped together.

The button punch spaces the buttons on approximately two-inch centers along the flange to be inserted in the pocket. The continuous sharp fold on the pocket permits the button flange to be snapped into the pocket.

The pocket and flange must be formed in a machine suited to the gauge of metal being formed. If this is not adhered to, the pocket will be loose and stiffness and air tightness will be lessened. A final note: Button punch snap lock is not recommended for aluminum.
