Stille’s artery forceps are manufactured in optimum-grade surgical stainless steel and with the surgeon’s specific needs in focus. They are always easy to open and the catch keeps them locked in a safe position. The jaws have soft rounded edges and fit perfectly together. Their unsurpassed durability makes Stille’s artery forceps a sound long-term investment.
Few surgical instruments have to be more enduring than needle holders. Stille’s needle holders guarantee a firm and secure grip of the needle. Most of Stille’s needle holders are equipped with hard carbide metal inserts in order to increase durability, while a smaller proportion of the range uses diamond jaws. All our needle holders have the renowned Stille feel, and are precisely weighted and balanced instruments that will last for years. Suturing needles above the recommended size may damage the needle holder and is not covered by guarantee. Please contact us if you require further information about which needles are recommended for the various types of needle holder.
Stille’s retractors are highly polished instruments with specially designed handles, blades and teeth to ensure a non-traumatic grip on sensitive tissue. The range includes retractors that push aside tissue manually as well as automatic retractors. Stille’s retractors can withstand many years of daily use.
Stille is renowned for its unique, light and well-balanced surgical scissors. Stille’s scissors confer maximum cutting strength in all types of soft tissue with minimal force, not just when new, but after many years of use. Our scissors are available in Standard, SuperCut and Ergonomic versions. SuperCut Stille invented the SuperCut scissors in 1982. They have unparalleled performance in soft tissue. Stille’s SuperCut scissors have specially designed cutting surfaces—a combination of scissor and knife edges, so they cut themselves forward. SuperCut scissors cut with high precision right to their tip. Their special sharpening makes them ideal for right or left-handed surgeons. Just like all scissors, SuperCut need regular sharpening. When it is time for sharpening, Stille’s tenured instrument craftsmen ensure that scissors are sharpened with maximum precision. Ergonomic Surgical Scissors Surgical scissors are normally held with precision using the thumb and the long or ring finger. When using scissors of a traditional design, the hand usually ends up in a strenuous resting position which may cause tension or fatigue in the surgeon’s hand after sustained and repeated use. In order to achieve a grip that more closely resembles the hand’s normal resting position, Stille has developed a range of scissors with increased space between the cheeks compared to traditional scissors. Stille’s ergonomically designed scissors have the advantage that the surgeon’s hand need not become exhausted during lengthy procedures.
Stille offers an assortment of curettes, raspatories, dissectors and elevators of the very highest quality. The material is highly polished stainless steel with precisely the qualities that are so important for these types of instruments. The steel is hard enough to deal with hard bone tissue and to remain sharp, yet flexible enough to avoid damaging implants. This instrument group also includes Stille’s well known uterine curettes. They are designed with shafts of unhardened stainless steel, which gives them the precise fl exibility required. The instruments need not be coated with a surface layer of nickel, which prolongs durability and increases patient safety.
Stille offers a wide range of high-quality vascular clamps for various purposes. In order to avoid damaging the vessel, clamps should apply exactly the amount of pressure required to stop bleeding and no more. In other words, it is important that the pressure along the jaws is evenly distributed and is as low as possible while remaining effective. Like all Stille forceps and clamps, the closing of the jaws at the distal part first ensures that pressure is evenly distributed with controllable force.
