FEP Probe Covers  developed by Tef Cap Industries are manufactured from chemically inert Teflon Tubing and are designed to be protective tubes for thermocouples, probes and costly RTD’s. Tef Cap has developed a proprietary method of sealing the ends of Heat Shrinkable Teflon FEP Tubing   that results in a smooth, round, conforming, pinhole-free seal. Heat Shrinkable FEP Probe Covers are supplied with a .010-inch thick wall, much thicker than conventional TFE, FEP or PFA spray coatings that are often only .001 inch thick. They are chemically inert and FDA compliant.

Polytertafluoroethylene  or   Teflon PTFE Tubing is the first and most common of the Fluoropolymer products. Spaghetti Tubing or small diameter PTFE Tubing manufactured to AWG (American Wire Gauge) sizes has the widest range of applications thanks to its high service temperature, superior chemical resistance and insulating  properties . With a clean smoothbore interior PTFE Tubing AWG allows for a restriction free flow. Tubing manufactured from PTFE resins have a low permeability to gases and  liquids. PTFE is almost completely inert to chemical attack, but under special conditions, it can be affected by such substances as alkali metals and halogens. Teflon PTFE Tubing AWG is heat resistant to 500°F and is ETO (ethylene oxide) and autoclave sterilizable for repeat usage. Fluoropolymer tubing is considered a highly flexible tube but the properties of PTFE Tubing allow for it to have the best flex life out of all Fluoropolymers. Extruded PTFE Tubing is produce with 3 different wall sizes : Standard Wall , Thin Wall and Light Wall ( or Lightweight Wall )

PTFE Heat Shrinkable Tubing 2:1  possess excellent characteristics for use in high temperature applications, corrosive environments and as an electrical insulator. PTFE Tubing has the lowest coefficient of friction among the Fluoropolymer which makes it ideal for applications that need a lubricious slippery material to reduce linear friction. PTFE Heat Shrinkable Tubing is chemically resistant to all common acids and solvents making it almost 100 % chemically inert. PTFE Tubing has a high dielectric strength over a wide range of temperatures which is why it is an excellent electrical insulator in corrosive environments and high temperature applications. AWG Heat Shrinkable material is available in three different wall thicknesses just like  Extruded PTFE Tubing .  Standard Wall , Thin Wall and Light Wall. PTFE resins carry a Flame Resistant Rating of UL94 VO and WV-1 which make it ideal for insulating, terminating, moisture sealing, splicing, wire bundling and electrical applications. Although Heat Shrinkable PTFE Tubing does not carry the same UL rating it still complies with a VO rating for flame resistance. Tef Cap can also manufacture PTFE Heat Shrink Tubing Products for applications where wires or instrumentation needs to be colored coded for identification purposes. Most materials will not adhere to FEP but even those that might “cling” to the surface can be wiped off with a damp cloth. Nothing will release adhesives and glues as well as FEP and no other surface prevents picking and build–up like FEP.
