The engineers at Tomoegawa USA Paper developed our advanced technology ELEPHANE R7 Series tape for fixing lead frame inner leads in DIP and QFP package applications. Inside of our R&D facility, they formulated an electrically insulative, non-conductive adhesive and applied it to a base polyimide film, then added a protective PET layer. Laminated on wide 35 mm – 1, 400 rolls, it is slit to widths of 5 mm or greater in 0.1 mm increments, which enables us to achieve tight tolerance results. ELEPHANE R7 withstands the extremely high temperatures of IC package assembly, and it also adheres at low temperatures for thermosetting applications. In addition to its low ionic impurities, it also exhibits low out gassing and high electrical reliability. Formulated to tolerate temperatures of 120°C-240°C, the flexibility of our manufacturing process allows us to adjust the parameters based on specific customer requirements. Consisting of a 25 µm polyimide film base, 6 µm non-conductive adhesive, and 38 µm protective film, it features good wire bondability, low outgassing, and provides strong adhesion with the lead frame with absolutely no resin leak during the metallic mold formation process. It exhibits excellent release properties and leaves no residue after removal. Offered in a reel format, our proprietary manufacturing process enables us to produce tapes in master widths from 35 to 1, 400 mm and precision slit them to widths from 5 mm and up in 0.1 mm increments. At Tomoegawa USA we carry a full line of specialty papers including ECO Crystal, water resistant laser printer paper. It's ideal for use as retail store price cards, menus, POP advertisements, name tags, banners, and much more. ECO Crystal features a durable glossy and printable finish on both sides, while maintaining the same laser toner adhesion of regular laser paper. ECO Crystal paper features resistant to water, extreme cold, and heat, as well as UVs. Its PET film lamination creates a product that will not tear, and can be recycled in a normal paper waste stream. Available in standard sizes with 250 sheet minimums, and immediate shipment.
