GigaSat produces a range of ancillary products necessary for the successful implementation of any earth station, whether it is fixed, flyaway or driveaway.

FMP series monitoring panels are available in 19" rack mount format for use in vehicles and fixed earth stations or compact flyaway format where they mount in the lid of our carbon fibre flight cases.

The lid mounting solution is particularly elegant and brings with it the obvious advantage of reducing the overall number of flight cases necessary.

Standard FMP series configurations include dual video displays and dual active monitor speakers with PPM metering. Options include rasterized, video waveform overlay and spectrum monitor overlay for the video displays.

Manpack Terminals

GigaSat's satellite communication manpack terminals range from the MicroVSAT series of terminals to the 1.0m FA-100.
These terminals feature integrated electronics and, if required, integrated modems.
We provide Interfaces for external L-band devices, making the terminals modem agnostic.
The sub 0.6m (circular equivalent) terminals are non-motorised and use an interactive GUI to point and acquire the satellite.
Amongst this range of terminals some of the antennas use custom flat panel arrays and some use shaped reflectors, which optimise the EIRP Spectral Density.
The FA-100 (1.0m) features changeable feeds, so operatives can quickly configure it for X-band, Ku-band or Ka-band.
Full motion three-axis motorisation, combined with the integral antenna controller, allow this terminal to automatically acquire satellites within minutes of deployment.
Each of the manpack terminals are designed to be as small and lightweight as possible. All are extremely rugged, being MIL-STD-810G compliant.

Portable Microwave Links

MLV-Series microwave links represent the next generation of portable outside broadcast microwave links but are available today in all frequency bands from 1GHz to 23GHz.

Designed for point to point transmission of single or multiple video and associated audio channels in MPEG-2 or MPEG-4, standard or high definition formats the MLV-series meets the demands of the most discerning professional broadcast engineers.

Systems comprise RF head units and control units which can be separated by up to 600m of RG214 coaxial cable with standard N type interfaces. Options are also available for triaxial cable with Lemo connectors and fibre optic cable.

Fixed Microwave Links

FLV series fixed microwave links are designed for maximum versatility, allowing GigaSats highly experienced system engineers to integrate for virtually any requirement.

Typical applications would be distribution of single or multiple digital video channels andor audio circuits with complexity ranging from a basic single hop studio-transmitter link (STL) or transmitter-studio link (TSL) to a complete cross country microwave backbone.

Antenna Controllers

STC-series is a range of antenna controllers specifically designed for use with GigaSat flyaway, driveaway and fixed antenna systems, but equally suitable for use with any other motorised antenna with positional feedback.

Comprehensive software features allowing antennas to automatically point to up to 99 programmable coordinates, either actual as usually acceptable for a fixed antenna installation or for driveaway or flyaway systems relative to directionposition information supplied by an external flux gate compass and GPS.

On GigaSat motorised flyaway and driveaway antennas these are integral to the antenna local control unit and Compass Cal and Compass Offset features allow environmental irregularities to be compensated for when moving from one location to another.

Redundancy Control

The RFS series are versatile control and redundancy units designed to work with both GigaSat equipment and most third party manufactured products.

The heart of the unit is an FPGA device which can be programmed to provide virtually any system configuration including 1:1, 1:N, Phase Combined, SCPC, MCPC, multi-band etc.

The user interface is a custom produced front panel providing full Mimic functionality with LED display and push button control of signal routing plus redgreed alarm indication of all sub systems.

The RFS series is available as a 19 rack mount panel for use in fixed earth station and vehicle applications where the coaxial IF and waveguide RF switches may be remotely installed. Alternatively, for mobile flyaway configurations, it can be supplied as a flight case mounted shelf unit with all coaxial and waveguide switching co-located in a tray behind the front panel.

Flyaway -

At the time of writing the FA-120 antenna is believed to be the lightest most compact 1.2m flyaway antenna available. It is intended primarily for Satellite News Gathering, but is equally well suited to any other application where a one man lift is mission critical or transportation as checked baggage is vital.
The FA-120 is almost entirely manufactured from moulded carbon fibre and durable light weight plastics to ensure that even with 3 axis motorisation, packed weight comes in at less than 32kgs and the highly innovative Russian Doll reflector design has kept the packed dimensions to easily manageable proportions comparable with many much smaller antennas.
Operators in the field face difficulties and the attention to detail found in the FA-120 antenna greatly assists.
Composite legs, integral to the overall dimensions of the antenna when packed, fold down and ratchet into multiple positions for high stability on any terrain with an incline up to 15 degrees and stake holes allow the antenna to be pinned down for high wind operation. The mount case, empty when the antenna is deployed can also be loaded with ballast.
As a manual antenna the FA-120 can easily be pointed using the three axis vernier adjusters. A spirit bubble is provided to level the antenna and clear scales are provided for azimuth, elevation and pole.
When specified, motors, inclinometer, potentiometers and digital control unit all fit neatly within the weatherproof housing and allow comprehensive control via RS485, using either the GigaSat STC-100 antenna controller or a range of third party controllers.
Within minutes of arrival at site, the FA-120 can automatically point, peak and track, even on highly inclined satellites. However, in the unlikely event that the motorisation or power should not be available the antenna can easily be manually overridden at any time using the 13mm12" hand crank supplied.

Fixed Antennas

Extending its engineering skills base to fixed earth stations, GigaSat can install, integrate and commission any fixed antenna from 13m.
One of the key features of the smaller antennas is the speed of assembly, which allows on-site work to be kept to a minimum and enables the start of service to be very soon after arrival on site.
GigaSat has qualified its fixed antennas with virtually every satellite operator. GigaSat has a team of Engineers and Technicians familiar with installations in many locations around the world and can easily adapt the system for the local conditions and perform the installation work required to offer full turnkey services.

Intelsat IESS308309 specifications are comfortably exceeded by all models, allowing operation with broad and narrow band carriers, using simple and complex, digital modulation schemes.
