White Chickpea

We are a noteworthy exporter and supplier of White Chickpea based in Delaware, United States. These beans also known as garbanzo beans have a high fibre content which is necessary for lowering cholesterol levels and controlling blood sugar in the body.  We ensure that all orders are properly packed so that there is little or no damage to the product.

Details :

  • Garbanzo beans (like most legumes) have long been valued for their fiber content. Two cups provide the entire Daily Value! But the research news on garbanzos and fiber has recently taken us one step further by suggesting that the fiber benefits of garbanzo beans may go beyond the fiber benefits of other foods.
  • In a recent study, two groups of participants received about 28 grams of fiber per day. But the two groups were very different in terms of their food sources for fiber. One group received dietary fiber primarily from garbanzo beans.
  • The other group obtained dietary fiber from entirely different sources. The garbanzo bean group had better blood fat regulation, including lower levels of LDL-cholesterol, total cholesterol, and triglycerides.
  • In some parts of the world (for example, parts of India), garbanzo beans are eaten daily in large amounts and on a year-round basis.
  • But a recent study has shown that we can obtain health benefits from garbanzo beans even when we eat much smaller amounts over a much shorter period of time.
  • In this study, it took only one week of garbanzo bean consumption to improve participants' control of blood sugar and insulin secretion.
  • Equally important, only one-third cup of the beans per day was needed to provide these blood-sugar related health benefits.

  • For the tomato sauce
    • 6 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 red onion, chopped
    • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
    • 1 red chilli, deseeded and chopped
    • 2 x 400g/14oz tins plum tomatoes
    • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • For the beans
    • 250g/9oz dried cannellini beans, soaked overnight or a 410g/14oz tin, drained and rinsed
    • 3 cloves garlic, squashed with skin left on (if using dried beans)
    • 3 sprigs sage leaves, plus extra to serve (if using dried beans)
    • pinch salt
  • For the sausages
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • 12 good-quality sausages

Method :

  • To make the tomato sauce, heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the onion and cook over a medium heat for 8-10 minutes, then add the garlic and chilli and cook for a further 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Add the tomatoes, reduce the heat and simmer, stirring regularly, until the sauce is thick - about 50 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, to cook the dried beans (if you are using tinned do not do this, just add them to the sauce in the final stage), put them in a large saucepan and cover with plenty of water. Add the garlic, sage and a pinch of salt. Bring to the boil and skim off any scum. Reduce the beans and allow to simmer for about 40 minutes - they should still have a little bite to them. Once they are cooked, drain and set aside, discarding the garlic and sage.
  • For the sausages, heat the oil in a frying pan, add the sausages and brown all over. Drain on kitchen towel and set aside.

Freekeh Wheat

We are listed among the noted exporters and suppliers of Freekeh Wheat based in Delaware, United States. This type of wheat is usually harvested early which makes the green grains tender. This wheat derives its name from the process used to obtain it and can be used on other grains such as barley too. We offer special prices for bulk orders.

Details :

  • Freekeh (pronounced free-kuh or free-kah … the name alone is great!) is an ancient grain, often mentioned right alongside other superfood heroes like quinoa, spelt, amaranth and farro. You might also see it spelled freekah or frikeh, or called farik or fireek (that’s quite an identity crisis for a tiny grain!).
  • Regardless, freekeh is essentially wheat that has been harvested early, while the grains are still tender and green. The kernels are then parched, roasted, dried and rubbed.
  • Technically, the term freekeh is actually the name of a process used to prepare grains, and not the name of a specific grain variety.
  • However, it typically refers to wheat, and generally to durum wheat. So, although the freekeh process can be applied to other grains (such as barley), what you find on American shelves is usually wheat, and should be clearly labeled as such.

Black Eyed Beans

We are listed amongst the good exporters and suppliers of Black Eyed Beans based in Delaware, United States. These beans or peas are legumes which are very nutritious. These beans are sometimes cultivated to improve soil quality by the process of nitrogen-fixing. The beans we offer are not only delicious but also easy to cook. We are a good supplier for wholesale orders.

Details :

  • Black-eyed peas (Vigna unguiculata) are a variety of the cowpea and are part of the family of beans & peas (Leguminosae orFabaceae in the USA). Although called a pea, it is actually a bean.
  • Both peas and beans are legumes, and both have edible seeds and pods.
  • According to the Penguin Companion to Food, bean is a “term loosely applied to any legume whose seeds or pods are eaten, not classed separately as a pea or lentil.” Beans traditionally were in the genus Phaseolus, but now some of the species, including the black-eyed pea, are in the genus Vigna. Peas are in the genus Pisum.
  • The common names of beans and peas are not consistent; other legumes popularly called “peas” are the butterfly pea (Clitoria ternatea), the chickpea (Cicer arietinum), pigeon peas (Cajanus cajan), and the winged pea (Lotus tetragonolobus).
  • As legumes they are extremely nourishing vegetables, both to people and to the soil. They are able to fix nitrogen, meaning nitrogen from the air is taken in by the plant and bacteria living in the roots convert it to a useable plant nutrient. Because of this process, nitrogen-fixing plants improve soil quality by adding nutrients back into the soil.

Fun Facts About Black-Eyed Peas :

  • Cultivated since pre-historic times in China and India, they are related to the mung bean. The ancient Greeks and Romans preferred them to chickpeas.
  • Brought to the West Indies from West Africa by slaves, by earliest records in 1674.
  • Originally used as food for livestock, they became a staple of the slaves’ diet. During the Civil War, black-eyed peas (field peas) and corn were thus ignored by Sherman’s troops. Left behind in the fields, they became important food for the Confederate South.
  • In the American South, eating black-eyed peas and greens (such as collards) on New Year’s Day is considered good luck: the peas symbolize coins and the greens symbolize paper money.
  • They are a key ingredient in Hoppin’ John (peas, rice and pork) and part of African-American “soul food.”
  • Originally called mogette (French for nun). The black eye in the center of the bean (where it attaches to the pod) reminded some of a nun’s head attire.
