Fiberfrax® ceramic fiber products are manufactured from alumina-silica materials and offer such characteristics as high temperature stability, low thermal conductivity, low heat storage, excellent thermal shock resistance, light weight, and superior corrosion resistance. Fiberfrax ceramic fiber products exhibit thermal stability at temperatures up to 1430°C (2600°F). The Fiberfrax blanket and mat product family consists of a group of lightweight, thermally efficient ceramic fiber insulating materials that combine the advantages of both low heat storage and complete resistance to thermal shock. Offering a broad range of thermal capabilities and physical characteristics, this product family provides proven and effective solutions to a variety of heat processing applications. Durablanket® ceramic fiber products are high strength, needled insulating blankets that are made from spun Fiberfrax ceramic fibers. The extra-long spun fibers, cross-locked through a unique forming process, produce a blanket with exceptional handling strength. This product family is completely inorganic and available in a variety of temperature grades, densities and sizes. Fibermat® blanket, PH blanket, and Moist Pak-D® insulation provide additional options for specific application requirements ranging from high-temperature filtration to hot gas velocity resistance. Fibermax® mat is a high-temperature, flexible mat product entirely composed of Fibermax polycrystalline mullite fibers, making it an extremely lightweight, highly resilient insulator that is virtually free of unfiberized (“shot”) particles.

Fibermax® Needled Blankets are high temperature, lightweight and flexible products manufactured from polycrystalline mullite fiber that can be exposed to temperatures up to 1600°C (2912°F). These blankets contain no organic binders or other additives which cause outgassing fumes or associated problems. In addition to exhibiting excellent resistance to most corrosive agents, Fibermax Needled Blankets also resist oxidation and reduction. Fibermax Needled Blankets are virtually free from shot (unfiberized particles). That makes it ideal for use in environments where the presence of shot is undesirable. The low shot content results in a product with extremely low thermal conductivity. Its unique fiber layup and needling process provide Fibermax Needled Blankets with outstanding consistency, handling strength and resiliency at elevated temperatures. Alkaline Earth Silicate (AES)- low bio-persistence fibers. Temperature Grade: 2300°F (1260°C). Isofrax® 1260C Blanket is the product of a long-term research and development effort by Unifrax to produce an insulating blanket which has the high temperature performance characteristics required in many applications at temperatures up to 1260°C (2300°F) and also meets European regulatory requirements (Directive 9769EC). Isofrax® 1260C Blanket provides: Low thermal conductivity Excellent thermal stability Thermal shock resistance Low weight Required handling strength Low heat storage Flexibility Excellent corrosion resistance Isofrax® 1260C Blanket has excellent chemical stability and is unaffected by most chemicals except hydrofluoric and phosphoric acids and concentrated alkalies. If wet by water or steam, thermal and physical properties remain unaffected after drying. Isofrax® 1260C Blanket also provides superior resistance to attack from molten aluminum alloys at high temperatures. Isofrax® 1260C Blanket is an inorganic, needled insulating blanket which is manufactured using Isofrax® 1260C spun fibers. The extra long spun fibers, cross-locked through a unique forming process, produce a blanket with good handling strength. Isofrax® 1260C Blanket provides solutions to a variety of heat processing problems.

Duraboard® 1700 and Duraboard® 1800 are an extension to the Fibermax® product line. These board products exhibit excellent thermal stability (low shrinkage) at very high operating temperatures. Another benefit of these board products is their extremely high modulus of rupture (MOR) in both the green and fired state. Because of this strength, both Duraboard 1700 and Duraboard 1800 are very well suited for applications where sag resistance is critical. Duraboard 17R and 18R have a rolled finish, while Duraboard 17H and 18H are compressed during manufacturing for optimum density and sanded smooth. Standard thicknesses available for these products are 13mm (12″), 25mm (1″), 38mm (1-12″), and 50mm (2″). Also, if requested, these boards can be provided heat-treated to remove all organic content. Specialty shapes with similar product properties may be provided upon request.

Saffil® Alumina Fibers are high-purity polycrystalline fibers designed for use in applications up to 1600°C. Since their development in the early 1970s, Saffil® Fibers have been used successfully to solve problems in demanding high-temperature insulation and many other specialty applications. LA, HA and HX Fibers Introduction LA & HA Fibers are processed to give the finished product exceptional resistance to shrinkage and chemical attack at high temperature, while maintaining excellent resilience characteristics. HX Fiber is processed to ensure that a high level of Alumina is converted into the extremely thermally stable alpha Alumina phase. This fiber is the most chemically resistant in the Saffil family of products.

Saffil® Blankets are high temperature, lightweight, needled blankets manufactured from high purity, polycrystalline fiber with a polypropylene carrier to optimize strength and flexibility. Refractoriness Low shrinkage at high temperature (1600°C) ensures long life in the most demanding applications. High fuel and maintenance cost savings can be made. Stability of the material at high temperature removes the problem of lining degradation over time, which can result in premature lining failure or cosly contamination of product.
