A radome (a combination of radar and dome) is a structural, weatherproof enclosure that protects a microwave or radar antenna. The radome is constructed of material that minimally attenuates the electromagnetic signal transmitted or received by the antenna. The radome is therefore transparent to radar or radio waves and serves to protect the antenna surfaces from the environment and conceal antenna electronic equipment from public view. They could also protect nearby personnel from being accidentally struck by rotating antennas. Radomes can be constructed in several shapes (spherical, geodesic, planar, etc.) depending upon the particular application using various construction materials. When used on UAVs or other aircraft, in addition to such protection, the radome also streamlines the antenna system, reducing drag & wind resistance. Plastic clamshell packaging is a thermoformed plastic package designed to encapsulate and clearly display a retail product. The term clamshell refers to the hinging of the product similar to a “clamshell” that you may find at the beach. Some custom plastic clamshell packaging products will have a single hinge with the ability to also hang from a shelf. Other more complicated custom plastic clamshell packaging needs may require a multi-hinged design as well as a base for multiple display options.

Friction fits, indentations, snaps and undercuts can be used to custom fit the product.

Vacuum forming and pressure forming are widely used for medical device housings as both processes can create distinctive, contemporary looking products. Designers know that most users strongly prefer the warm feeling and contoured shapes that plastics bring to the product design, and thermoforming can accomplish that with less tooling investment, a key benefit when the device is larger, and has a limited market. Pressure forming in particular can create bezels and housings which are indistinguishable from injection molded parts, with tight radii and even molded-in texture or logos. Thermoformed plastics can also be mated with sheet metal enclosures, optimizing the properties of both. We can texture paint to match powdery coat finishes exactly.
