655 Vibration Meter

The Vitec Model 655 Compact Balance Analyzer is used for in-place balancing, vibration measurement and stop-motion analysis of rotating machinery. Its color-coded front panel controls and 6.5 lb. weight make it an easy-to-use field instrument. A single switch selects one of four modes of operation: the Meter mode allows the operator to measure the overall level of vibration in displacement or velocity; the Strobe mode offers user-selectable strobe firing rates for stop-motion analysis; an Analyze mode allows the Model 655 to be tuned to specific frequencies for signature analysis. Balancing is accomplished in the phase mode. The tunable filter is based on a programmable digital LSI chip to give a high degree of accuracy and drift-free readings.
Although light in weight and small in size, the Model 655 offers features found normally only on larger, more expensive analyzers. An AC output jack can be used to view the incoming signal on an oscilloscope. An XY recorder output is provided for hard copy signature analysis purposes. Dual switch-selectable pickup inputs make two-plane balancing operations easier. All vibration readings are based on a true RMS circuit to provide the most accurate vibration indications possible.
The Model 655 will operate for up to 40 hours on a single charge in the meter or analyzer mode and up to one hour in the strobebalance mode.

7058 4-Channel Vibration Monitor

  • Transducer Input Accelerometer Non-Contact Probes Velocity Transducer
  • Ranges Various
  • Relay One common alarm relay for all channels One common probe fault relay for all channels (not functional for Accelerometer inputs except 4072/4073). One common trip relay for all channels
  • Limit Independently adjustable alarm and trip setpoint for each channel, 0 – 100% full scale.
  • Analog Output 0-1V, 0-5V or 4-20mA DC
The 7058 4-Channel Vibration Monitor measures the vibration level of one to four points on rotating equipment located up to 1, 000 feet from your central control room, ideally suited for monitoring multiple points on large equipment like turbines and multi-stage pumps. Can be configured to: (1) accept signals from acceleration transducers, velocity transducers or non-contact probes; (2) condition signals to monitor in acceleration (gs), velocity (insec) or displacement (mils); and (3) low-pass, bandpass and high-pass filters for each channel to allow you to monitor for a particular problem or to remove unwanted signals generated by nearby machines.

A single analog meter allows you to view the vibration level, alarm and trip setpoint for each channel, and can be set to display the highest vibration level of the four channels. Front panel LEDs give immediate indication when alarm and trip setpoints have been exceeded, or when power or a transducer signal has been lost. AC and DC signal outputs and multiple relays allow for connection to external devices for alarm or automatic shutdown.

2110 Monitoring System

  • Input Axial position (noncontact probes) Case expansion (extended range displacement probes or LVDT) Differential expansion (extended range displacement probes or LVDT) Eccentricity (noncontact probes) Megawatt level (megawatt to mVDC transducer) Pressure
  • Modes Acceleration (g or m/sec2) Velocity (in/sec or mm/sec) Displacement (mils or µm) Megawatt level (MW) Pressure (PSI)
  • Ranges 0.0 to higher number, e.g., to 1.0, to 9, 000 Low to higher number, e.g;., 1.0 to 50.0, 500 to 10, 000 Negative to positive number, e.g., -2.0 to 8.0, -40 to +40
  • Filtering Bandpass High-pass Low-pass
  • Repeatiblity ±2%
The 2110 provides around-the-clock monitoring of machinery and processing equipment and warns operating personnel when predetermined limits have been exceeded. Individual bar graph displays give continuous indications of each channel, allowing the operator to view vibration, speed or other process variable levels at a glance. LEDs on the individual modules energize to indicate alarm, trip and pick-up status.

The unit features high-density operation, up to 248 channels of process variable monitoring. Modular construction ensures economical system expansion, without the need for field programming or returning the system to the factory for modification. The system combines the proven reliability of analog signal conditioning with the ease of use and dynamic display capabilities of a microprocessor-based system.

The 2110 comes with another valuable feature Vitec applications support. Our experienced Application Engineers are available to help you custom tailor a system to fit your individual needs or simply answer your vibration questions. A system is only as good as the company that backs it.

Each 2110 Monitoring System is custom-configured to meet the Customers exact requirements. Please contact Vitec to have one of our Application Engineers help configure your system and supply a quotation.

438R Vibration Switches With Remote Transducer

  • Measurement Mode Velocity
  • Transducer Model No. Determined by temperature at mounting point and frequency response required
  • Analog Output (DC) 4 – 20 mA
  • Enclosure Operating Temperature -25 to +160F (-32 to +71C)
  • Cable Assembly Length Up to 1000 ft. (305M)
The 438R monitors the vibration level of rotating equipment using a velocity or acceleration transducer mounted to your machine and located up to 1, 000 feet from the 438R electronics enclosure. The 438R is ideally suited for applications where the electronics should be easily accessible but the point to be monitored is in a dangerous or inconvenient area such as a cooling tower fan, overhead conveyor or remote pumping station. The 438R is also used in applications where the point to be monitored has a rounded surface, such as a bearing block.

AC and DC signal outputs allow for communication to external devices such as spectrum analyzers, PLCs and Distributed Control Systems. Relays for Alarm and Trip give the capability for early warning and shutdown of your equipment when increased vibration levels are detected. Enclosures are available for wet, corrosive or hazardous environments and transducers for temperatures up to 500F260C.
