Description:


Tungsten can be added 3%, 5%, 25% and 26% of rhenium to form tungsten rhenium alloy for high temperature thermocouple wire and the cathode wire. Adding 41%47.5% of rhenium to molybdenum forms molybdenum rhenium alloy (nominal composition is 50% Mo +50% Re).It has good high-temperature ductility, used in the electronics industry, nuclear industry and aerospace industries.


Rhenium into tungsten or molybdenum respectively, W-Re alloy and Mo-Re alloy are formed. Their electrical property, high-temperature ductility and processing ability are promoted and strengthened to a large extent which are available to the wide application on high temperature parts like heaters, thermocouples and cathode tubes etc.UMM produce customized W-Re & Mo-Re alloys products with various specifications in the shapes of wire, rod, pole, plate and other irregular parts.

To improve the quality of tungsten wire, it is always mixed some additives during sintering procession, such as na2o, k2o, sio2, tho to enhance the capacity of high-temperature creep resistance and high temperature anti-sag of tungsten wire. In order to improve the tenacity of tungsten wire and prevent the deformation under high temperature, it usually added some oxides, such as silica, alumina, potassium and so on.

Oxides used are primarily those of zirconium, thorium, lanthanum, yttrium or cerium. Additions are usually of order 1%-4%. All these oxides greatly improve arc initiation, especially when direct current (DC) welding is employed. Thorium oxide (thoria) has been used for many years having been found effective in terms of long life and thermal efficiency. Zirconium oxide (zirconia) has been commonly used for alternating current (AC) TIG welding, normally for welding aluminium.
