Designed for install on 14” standard military pylon launcher All carbon fiber construction Instrumentation mounts to attach deck in enclosure top with holes drilled as required for installation.
Aircraft PylonsHardpoints Zivko Aeronautics has developed a Composite Pylon and Multi Instrument Mounting System (MIMS) for mounting scientific instrumentation on wing hardpoints of Twin Otter aircraft. The pylons are carbon-fiber composite and weigh ~10lbs (a 50% reduction in weight from standard aluminum pylons). The pylons include a 12 hole mount at the bottom that mates with standard Particle Measuring Systems, Inc (PMS) style pods and are capable of holding up to 250lbs each. Cross bracing stabilizes the pylons and are configured so a total of four pylons can be mounted on the aircraft at the same time. In addition to the pylons, a center pod MIMS that can include a Rosemount 5-hole probe and C-midge2 can be used, enabling 3 PMS pods to be mounted on a single pylon. This configuration allows precise measurement of airstream conditions and velocities at the PMS pod location, minimizing potential errors. In addition to the pylons, and MIMS, custom pods can be quickly designed and fabricated at Zivko Aeronautics to hold custom instrumentation. The pylon system has been flown by CIRPAS during the ACE-ASIA mission to monitor atmospheric conditions in the Sea of Japan. Zivko Aeronautics Inc has extensive experience in producing equipment for use in atmospheric research aircraft. From aerosol measurement inlets to instrumentation racks. .
Radar Mounting Enclosure The enclosure is approximately 58" long, with internal dimensions of approximately 13" x 12". The pod is primarly designed for use in airborne radar applications, but can be modified for other purposes. The pod has three hardpoint attaches to allow the pod to be mounted in three configurations. This is useful for downward and sideward looking radar systems. The pod can be attached to a standard 12 hole pylon mount. The bottom fairing is attached using #10 screws.
