Expansion Tanks

  • Standard Design Pressure 125 PSI (200 & 250 PSI available)
  • Temperatures -20F to 450F
Expansion TanksASME Expansion TanksAAtanks offers three ASME expansion tank designs: Bladder, Diaphragm and Compression. Tanks range in size from 2 to 10, 000 gallons. Most of AAtanks expansion vessels are designed using a pre-pressurized vessel with an internal bladder or diaphragm to manage fluids under pressure. Custom tanks are produced to customer specifications, for high pressures andor special materials for severe duty applications. NLA Expansion TanksAAtanks NLA bladder style expansion tanks are designed to absorb the expansion forces and control the pressure in heatingcooling systems. The systems expanded water (compatible with waterglycol mixtures) is contained in a replaceable heavy-duty butyl rubber bladder preventing tank corrosion and water logging. The NLA Series Expansion Tanks are manufactured to ASME specifications. The NLA series are industries broadest line of bladder style tanks. These vessels are offered in standard sizes ranging from 10 to 4, 000 gallons, with working pressures of 125 psi (standard), 200 and 250 psi. They are designed to allow the tanks air cushion to be separated from the systems water. No waterlogging of the tank can occur as the air is held between the tank wall and the outside of a bladder placed inside the tank, while the system water is contained inside the bladder. Compression tanks are designed to absorb expansion forces and control the pressure in heatingcooling systems. This tank design is most efficient when the air is controlled and kept in the tank, not in the system. Plain steel tanks have a common interface between the liquid, water, and the air in them. This interface allows the air to be reabsorbed by the water and thus must be controlled by use of air separation devices.Plain steel tanks must be installed above the air separation device to enable the separated air free passage back into the tank. The size and total tank and water weight must be considered during construction.Plain steel tanks are installed in the system with air at atmospheric pressure. This air will be compressed by water as the system is filled and brought up to minimum operation pressure or fill valve pressure. This filling action will fill the tank approximately 50% full or more before the system is put in operation. This increases the size of the tank and adds to the total weight.NA Expansion TanksDownload NA Expansion Tank Submittal Form [.pdf] NAG Galvanized Expansion TanksDownload NAG Galvanized Expansion Tank Submittal Form [.pdf] Construction:ASME ConstructionMaterial: Carbon SteelSystem Connection: Carbon SteelStandard Design Pressure: 125 PSI (200 & 250 PSI available)Standard Design Temperatures: -20F to 450FStandard Finish: Red Oxide Prime PaintedCustom Designs AvailableStainless Steel Models Available

Non-ASME Hydropneumatic Tanks

  • Standard Design Pressure 150 PSI
  • Standard Design Temperatures -20F to 200F
Non-ASME Hydropneumatic TanksFX bladder style tanks are non-ASME code design. FX tanks will be smaller in size than the plain steel hydropneumatic tank design and thus require less floor space. The heavy-duty butyl rubber replaceable bladder is a barrier between the air and water which prevents water logging. The pre-charged hydropneumatic tank is virtually maintenance free. Sizes from 2 to 528 gallons. Standard design working pressure 150 PSI. FX Hydropneumatic Tanks:FX series hydropneumatic tanks are designed to accept water between two set pressures usually controlled by a pump switch in pressure booster, water well, shock and surge, as well as other commercial and industrial systems where water is to be stored in a corrosion protected reservoir. ASME Bladder Surge Arrestor Tanks

  • Series SSA 35 - 20, 000 Surge Arrestor Tanks
ASME Bladder Surge Arrestor TanksAAtanks ASME-code bladder style surge arrestor tanks are pre-charged hydro-pneumatic tanks for commercial, industrial, municipal well water systems & fire protection systems. AAtanks designs utilize a heavy-duty butyl rubber barrier between the air and water which prevents water logging. Surge arrestor tanks are designed to effectively control water hammer shock and pump start-up shut-down water surge. Surge arrestor tanks are designed with a larger water system connection to accept potentially harmful water surge pressures quickly with minimal pressure drop. SSA Surge Arrestor Tanks:SSA Tanks are ASME-code replaceable bladder type pre-charged surge arrestor tanks. The water is contained in a butyl bladder. Standard sizes from 10 to 5284 gallons. Occasionally, some variations to this standard product line are required to solve specific applications.

ASME Thermal Expansion Tanks

  • Temperatures -20F to 240F
  • Standard Design Pressure 125 PSI (200 & 250 PSI available)
ASME Thermal Expansion Tanks:AAtanks offers three styles of ASME thermal expansion tank designs: Bladder, Full-Flow and Diaphragm. Tanks range in size from 2 to 4, 000 gallons. AAtanks thermal expansion vessels are designed using a pre-pressurized vessel with an internal bladder or diaphragm to manage fluids under pressure. Custom tanks are produced to customer specifications, for high pressures andor special materials for severe duty applications. TXA Thermal Expansion TanksAAtanks TXA replaceable bladder style thermal expansion tanks are required in a closed loop heating or chilled water HVAC system to absorb the expanding fluid and limit the pressure within a heating or cooling system. A properly sized expansion or compression tank will accommodate the expansion of the system fluid during the heating or cooling cycle without allowing the system to exceed the critical pressure limits of the system. The TXA-FF is designed as a multifunctional bladder tank for controlling system pressures in Thermal Expansion, Hydronic Expansion, and Hydro-Pneumatic applications. The TXA-FF design incorporates a unique flow through design that promotes fluid mixing. Mixing of the fluid inside the bladder tank disrupts stagnant water, preventing growth of potentially harmful bacteria colonies. The water is contained in a heavy-duty butyl bladder, preventing tank corrosion and waterlogging. They are designed to allow the tanks air cushion to be separated from the systems water. No waterlogging of the tank can occur as the air is held between the tank wall and the outside of a bladder placed inside the tank, while the system water is contained inside the bladder.
