A client who supplies security systems for construction sites requested Acrylic Art to manufacture a mobile surveillance housing which can accept the mounting of various security cameras. This housing unit would be used for temporary construction sites. Employing a combination of CNC milling, plastic fabrication, vacuum forming, and assembly, we were able to build this product to print. We began this project by first machining all housing features from ABS plastic material using our 3-axis vertical CNC machining center. We additionally machined all slots and drilled and tapped all holes. We then contracted an outside source to create a fully thermoformed acrylic dome. This dome was designed to allow 360° camera rotation and viewing. Finally, we assembled all machined parts using solvent cement and basic plastic fabrication techniques. Meeting a (±) .010 precision tolerance, we constructed the mobile surveillance housing to measure precisely 10.25 inches long and wide and 5.625 inches high. The dome itself measured 9.875 inches in outer diameter and 4.5 inches in height. After manufacturing was complete, we painted this unit silver. Based on a customer supplied, 3D CAD drawing, Acrylic Art built a mobile surveillance housing for the construction industry complete with internal fittings, stand-offs, and brackets. The unit's mobility allowed for various on-site video and still camera surveillance. Exceeding our client's expectations for quality and fulfilling all product specifications, we shipped the completed housing to our buyer's facility in San Ramon, California.

Meeting precise client specifications, Acrylic Art built an incubation chamber for the pharmaceutical and bio-tech industries. This important medical device is used for the research and development of antibiotics and other pharmaceutical medicines. Maintaining precision tolerances as high as (+-) .010 of an inch, we combined our CNC machining and plastic fabrication operations to manufacture this unit based off of a customer supplied, 2D print. We first constructed the chamber using typical plastic fabricating techniques. Cutting, routing and solvent bonding to assemble the chamber allowed us to machine other details post assembly. The O-ring groove and latch mounting holes were machined after assembly to achieve the necessary tolerance on these details. Once all of the incubator’s components were successfully manufactured, we then attached the latches and hinged door and placed the O-ring into the groove. The incubator cube measured precisely 14 inches square, with varying thicknesses of acrylic ranging from .25", .50" to .75". The unit possessed flame polished edges and a clear finish designed for optimum optical clarity. The chamber also possessed tray rails, 6 draw latches, and intake and exhaust ports (as mentioned above). Once assured that our incubator chamber fulfilled our client's product requirements, we delivered the completed unit to our buyer's facility in Santa Clara, California. This important medical device exceeded our customer's high expectations for quality as required for the medical industry.

Using our advanced 3-axis CNC vertical milling center, Acrylic Art built an MRI phantom calibration tool. This important device is used by the medical research industry to replicate the human knee for osteoporosis studies. Based off of a customer supplied, 3 dimensional print, we 3D CNC machined the unit's hollow hemispheres, as well as the cast tubing and removable lid. We also machined all filldrain ports found within the hollow sphere. After all the tool's components were properly fabricated, we then polished the hollow hemispheres to visual clarity, according to print specifications, and used solvent cement to both bond the two halves of the hemisphere together, and fix the end cap to the cast tubing. Finally, we manually assembled all components, including the gasket, intake fill valve, air bleed valve, and removable top cap. Meeting a precision (+-) .005 of an inch tolerance, we built this MRI calibration tool to meet precise dimensional requirements. The fully assembled unit measured 5 inches in diameter and 4 inches in height, with a .25 of an inch wall thickness. The solid sphere - the part used to replicate the knee cap - measured precisely 2 inches in diameter. The unit also possessed water and air tight compartments, including an outer chamber filled with a lightly dyed solution and a hollow sphere, which contained a radio opaque solution, and measured precisely 2.905 inches in outer diameter and 2.405 inches in inner diameter. When all manufacturing operations were concluded, we delivered the finished product to our customer's facility in San Francisco, California. Our MRI phantom calibration tool met with our client's high expectations for quality.

Recently, a client contracted Acrylic Art to build an induction assembly used within a clean room application. Using our 3-axis CNC vertical milling center, we machined this part complete, meeting an ultra-tight (±) 0.001 of an inch precision tolerance. The fully assembled piece included a number of features, such as a Gortex gasket, a brass fitting, a quartz nozzle (which we purchased for the assembly), a stainless steel ring, and a polycarbonate sleeve. To begin this project, we first CNC machined all ports and surfaces. We also machined the unit's stainless steel ring and polycarbonate sleeve. In addition, we performed all necessary drilling, boring, thread milling, and reaming operations. We annealed all of the polycarbonate items prior to assembly. After assembly, we had the entire unit vapor polished. The assembled unit was then cleaned to Class 5 standards, double bagged and sealed until ready for use in clean rooms. The completed unit measured 2.65x1.130x1.3 inches in dimension and possessed a smooth, 32 RMS material finish. Once all manufacturing and finishing operations were concluded, Acrylic Art delivered the induction assembly to our customer's facility in Alameda, California. Fulfilling all client product specifications, as well as a required UL94-V2 rating, our induction assembly met with high customer satisfaction.

Based off of a customer supplied, 3D CAD drawing, Acrylic Art built a Delrin manifold complete with acrylic chambers. This instrument is used to introduce anesthesia and oxygen from a compressed gas source into diagnostic research, observation, and testing tanks for the medical research and development industry. Using our CNC 3-axis vertical milling center with indexing head, we were able to meet ultra precision tolerances of (±) 0.005 of an inch. To begin this process, we first shell milled the manifold, as well as milled the unit's profile. In addition, we drilled all holes and performed all necessary counterboring and reaming operations. We then thread milled the manifold. We completed this project by fabricating, milling, and polishing the device's cast acrylic chambers to client specifications. Machined from black Delrin material, the manifold measured 9.063 inches long, 6.125 inches wide, and 1.75 inches high. The manifold also possessed a smooth, 63 RMS finish. The cast acrylic chambers were designed for superior optical clarity and measured 1.750 inch outer diameter, with a .125 inch wall thickness. Fulfilling all customer specifications, Acrylic Art was able to successfully build this important medical device to print. Exceeding our client's high expectations for quality, we delivered the finished manifold to our buyer's facility in Livermore, California.

When a pharmaceutical industry client from Berkeley, California contracted Acrylic Art to build a series of 6061 aluminum vial trays, used for pharmaceutical research and development applications, we quickly employed our 3-axis vertical milling center to mill and machine this important medical device complete, based on precise customer supplied, 2D prints. Meeting precision tolerances as high as (±) 0.005 of an inch, we CNC milled the profile of each unit, and then drilled and bored all vial holes. We additionally drilled and countersunk all mounting holes. Finally, we engraved zero, X, and Y coordinates for registration and filled the line location. We then provided each unit with a gold anodized finish. After all machining, engraving, and anodizing operations were completed, we delivered the finished unit to our buyer's facility in California. Our aluminum vial trays satisfied all client specifications and exceeded their expectations for quality.
