Hydroforming is a cost-effective way of shaping malleable metals such as aluminum into lightweight, structurally sound pieces. This process allows complex shapes with concavities to be formed, which would be difficult or impossible with standard solid die stamping. Hydroformed parts can often be made with a higher stiffness to weight ratio and at a lower per unit cost than traditional stamped or stamped and welded parts. Combining hydroforming with our heat treat facility puts AFG in an elite class fabricators. Our abrasive waterjet cutting machinery is equipped with nesting software that gives us the ability to group several part numbers together for optimum material utilization. The powerful cutting system allows an extremely precise cut through virtually any type of material ranging from 0.010" to 3.00" thick. Below is a titanium sheet metal part that requires partial thickness tapering and hole drilling operations, which are performed on our milling machines. Our Assembly Dept can accommodate projects ranging from simple bearing or nutplate installation to multiple level complex assemblies. The Engineering department at Aerospace Fabrications of Georgia, Inc. uses Catia V5 and Mastercam software for all CADCAM work and analyzes each project from every possible perspective to assure you of the highest-quality finished product. Our system is complete with multiple interfaces including Catia, Unigraphics, AutoCAD, IGES, etc. which allows us to read and write our customers' CAD format. Our programmers and planners are among the best in the business with years of experience in planning, manufacturing, and CNC programming.
