Helical Anchors - Should you use them?


Helix helical-style anchors offers moderate holding strength in average soils. Each Helix comes as a one-piece unit with eye ring for installation and tie-off.

Rod - 1045 steel
Disk - 1030 steel
Surface - Black enamel paint
Helical anchors are considered "old-school" by today's standards. The design of newer Penetrator and cabled anchors offer numerous advantages. The Helix is the only ground anchor that we do not manufacture.

Some of the Helix issues reported to us by customers:

Difficult to install
Disturbs the soil, minimal holding capacity
Welded blades break off
Lower load capacity
Difficult to reuse

Holdingguying temporary or permanent structures
Soil, sand, asphalt, underwater
Large Penetrators (36" and 46") can be used as footings
