In some applications, air movers are used to heat a component or space, and we can integrate these technologies into one system. We utilize PTC or resistance heating, and can include other components such as thermostats, relays, onoff controls, etc. Heating systems can also be incorporated into environmental control systems, controlling both cooling and heating of the component or space.

Centrifugal blowers develop high pressure-to-volume performance at low rotational speeds for quiet cooling of tightly packaged electronic equipment under severe environmental conditions in airborne, ground based, and shipboard applications. Simplex blowers have 1 squirrel cage impeller wheel while Duplex blowers have 2 squirrel cage impeller wheels mounted on a common shaft - both are available for either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation. Duplex blowers simplify ductwork and allow greater volume performance in tight locations. As with all squirrel cage blowers, air enters axially and exits tangentially, making a 90 degree turn. All models are built to applicable military specifications. Low Speed Warning Detector (LSWD)The Low Speed Warning Detector (LSWD) utilizes a programmable frequency switch capable of turning on or off a load such as an LED, audible alarm, back-up fan, etc, at a predetermined motor RPM. If fan speed falls below the present value, the back-up or warning device is activated. Once the fan speed exceeds the present value, it is deactivated. The RPM value is preset at the factory between 2, 000 and 20, 000 RPM (actual value is determined by the specific fan performance and customer requirements).

Propeller Fans have sheet metal blades, usually four or more in number, which are curved to provide an aerodynamic lift and are generally arranged without blade overlap (PREMAIRPROP blades overlap). These fans operate best at free delivery or at very low static pressures. Propeller Fans are suitable for conditions which require movement of a large volume of air against low resistance to flow. These fans are recommended for flushing cooling air through small enclosures such as radio cabinets, instrument panels, and communications equipment shelters. They come in a variety of voltages and frequencies and are available with lead wires only. Most units are available with an optional internal Fan Performance Sensor (FPS) or external Low Speed Warning Device (LSWD).

Vapor Cycle Coolers cool electronics and personnel to below ambient air temperatures, allowing commercial electronic components to operate in high temperature environments. By re-circulating cooled air, Vapor Cycle Coolers also isolate the electronics and personnel from outside air contaminants such as sand and dust AMETEK Rotron Vapor Cycle Coolers achieve reliability through the use of the Rotron line of fans and blowers. Compact designs to get the most cooling performance in a limited package size in the most efficient manner. Can be designed to meet MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810 Environmental requirements as well as other regulatory specifications. Any input voltages can be considered. Vapor Cycle Coolers can incorporate fault monitoring and electronic control. Cooling Units have been designed in sizes ranging from 77 watts to 12 kW and in all known applications and locations.

Rotron supplies a variety of liquid cooled heat exchanger assemblies for shipboard and industrial applications. Utilizing the ship or facility's water supply, our assemblies dissipate heat from surrounding devices and sources. These products are designed for high reliabiliy in demanding operating environments.

Rack mount electronics are used across a number of different industries. Our rack mounted can be 19" industry standard, or other customer specified width. We integrate both fans and heat exchangers depending on the cooling requirements, and direct the air as needed through the cusomer's electronic cabinetrack. When an application requires the high pressure capabilities of a blower, Rotron can design a custom unit to meet those specific requirements. Custom sheet metal is paired with a motor and impeller, creating a purpose-built blower. Blowers can also be designed for filtration and particle separation needs.

Liquid cooling systems offers a unique advantage with the use of a fluid medium for cooling. In addition to water-based systems for primarily shipboard or industrial applications, our designs support water-glycol, PAO, and other dielectric fluid mixtures. These fluid types allow for greater temperature ranges, supporting extreme environments. Products can also be integated with pumps for movement of the liquid.

One of Rotron's core competencies is in heat exchanger design. Our in-house engineers will design a heat exchanger to solve your thermal issues. We utilize a range of technologies, including tube-fin and plate-fin heat exchangers. We have the expertise to ensure the design is built to handle stringent requirements that are necessary for operation in your application.
