The Amphenol 485 series is a range of filtered ARINC 404 and 600 rack and panel connectors designed to provide space and cost-effective solutions to EMC compliance issues in avionics products. Amphenols filtered ARINC connectors are used extensively on Boeing, McDonnell Douglas and Airbus avionics equipment and a wide range of other military and commercial applications. The majority of the Amphenol filtered ARINC connector designs incorporate planar capacitor array technology in a solderless, stress-isolated configuration. This results in superior thermal and physical shock performance and unparalleled long term reliability. These products have been extensively qualified to the requirements of ARINC 600-9 and MIL-C-81659 and there are numerous qualification test reports available for review.

Amphenol offers a variety of filtered DSub connectors to address aerospace and commercial EMI requirements. There are two products in particular which are designed for aerospace applications where high reliability and superior environmental and elec trical performance are required. The 481 series of filtered DSub connectors has been in production for over 20 years using tubular capacitor filter technology. In the late 1980s, Amphenol developed a planar filter capacitor version of the sameconnector, the 308 series. Amphenol Canada's M13 connector series is a range of filtered MIL-C-83513 Micro-D products for military and aerospace applications. These extremely small (0.050" center spacing) filter connectors employ monolithic planar capacitors in a rugged, high density package ideally suited for applications where space and weight is restricted. Available in a variety of filter types and mechanical configurations, including wired harnesses, the M13 series are fully intermateable with all standard MIL-C-8351 3 connectors and meet the applicable performance and environmental requirements.

Amphenol's "AR" Series, ARINC rack and panel connectors are designed to meet or exceed the requirements of MIL-C-81659 and ARINC Specification 404. The "AR" Series is a multi-purpose connector used in aerospace, military and computer periphery applic ations. These connectors are available in five shell styles with up to four insert cavities. Inserts in this product line accommodate signal and power contacts in sizes 12, 16, 20 and 22. Coaxial contacts are available in sizes 5 and 9. Insert arrangements are available utilizing a single type contact or a combination of standard and coaxial contacts. Non-environmental and environmentally sealed connectors are offered. The environmental sealing is accomplished by wire sealing grommetsand interfacial seals. Application specific designs, including transient protection, are available from Amphenol.
