8" SISAL BUFF FULL DISC SEWN 13PLY WITH CLOTH SIDES These wheels are used for cut down operations on steel, stainless steel and aluminum. They work well as first step buffs when preparing work for the final high luster step. Use a steel cut buffing compound like #BP-401 or BP-408 with these buffing wheels. Sisal buffs are designed to take the pressure needed to buff out abrasive belt lines and scratches. These buffs are constructed of 13 ply of sisal sewn together with cotton sides. The rows of sewing are 14 inch apart giving them a positive firm feel. These buffing wheels are roughly 58" thick. You can stack as many on the buffing shaft as needed to build the desired buff face. The construction of the Airway Buff helps eliminate fraying and results in an economical, long lasting buff. When used with a perforated center plate insert, air passes between sections and helps the buff to run much cooler. The steel center and rigid construction allow greater pressure and faster cutting speed. This yellow material is starched and firmer than the untreated white cotton. The firm yellow material allows you to push harder and cut into the work for better, faster metal buffing. This wheel is 16 inches in diameter, it has a 7 inch center hole. It comes with a 7 inch center plate. THIS WHEEL COMES WITH A 1-14 INCH CENTER HOLE. You can order the wheel without the center plate (No Plate). Special center plates can be ordered in large quantities by special order, please request a quote for this. You MUST USE 8 inch End Flanges with this buffing wheel. 10 Inch Top Grade Flannel Buffing Wheel - 1-14" wide, 1 row of sewing. These soft flannel buffing wheels are for the finest scratch free buffing on soft metals like brass, copper, gold, and others. They are excellent for final buffing on lacquered products like guitars and pianos. Flannel buffs should be used with the finest coloring compounds like BP335, BP1025, Green and Red Rouge. These wheels are 33 plys of flannel sewn with one row of sewing around the center hole. They are roughly 1-14 inch thick. Like other full Disc wheels they can be stacked together on the buffing shaft to reach the desired thickness or used alone as a 1-14" inch wide buff. Flannel Buffing wheels can be too soft to produce a good shine on steel and stainless steel.
