It is chemical resistant and is commonly used in heat sealing and heat transfer applications, where you do not want the heated and mated surface in direct contact with one another. It comes with a high temperature silicone adhesive so it stays in place once you apply it. Temperature range is -90F to +450F.

Silicone Self-Fusing Tape conforms smoothly when wrapped around complex forms. It bonds to itself at room temperature within 24 hours and remains non-tacky to the touch. It also dampens vibration and resists heat and mechanical shock. Meets FAR 25.853. Use it to insulate electrical wires in a pinch or to quickly seal pneumatic and hydromatic hoses.
