BI-COMPONENT

One way or another, our netting components provide essential performance functionalities.
Bi-component netting is made of two different materials, one in each opposite direction, forming the web. Conwed can combine different, compatible resins, in the same netting configuration but in opposite directions. For example, one bi-component netting design may include an elastomer material in one direction and an adhesive in the opposite direction. This netting could eventually be incorporated with other substrates under thermal lamination. Otherwise, we could include polypropylene (PP) resin in one direction and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) in the opposite direction if the netting does not need to stretch. These are just two examples of the variety of combinations that are available in our bi-component portfolio. The limits of our netting technology are constantly tested and we are accustomed to research and test chemical formulations that will deliver your desired performance.
Our bi-component netting can be incorporated to nonwoven, foam, paper, film, membrane, tissue and other fabrics to become part of composites used in various industrial and consumer applications. The lamination and bonding versatility of our netting components allow us to be part of a wide range of applications without necessarily being seen in the final product. From medical and hygiene products to highly customized building and construction applications, our bi-component netting portfolio delivers essential performance functionalities.

Elastomeric

Products needing flexibility, extensibility, breathability, recovery and fitting capabilities rely on Conwed elastomeric netting for superior performance.
Conwed manufactures and commercializes Rebound elastomeric netting which serves as an ideal stretch engine material for a wide range of product applications. It is an ideal alternative to other stretch materials such as films, spandex and stretchable nonwovens. From adult incontinence underwear and training pants to therapeutic wraps, bandages and wipes, Rebound plays an essential role in their performance.
Rebound is extruded plastic netting made with specialty polymeric materials that provide stretchability in one or both directions of the web. Our engineering team can tailor all netting variables to deliver precise product performance and breathability.
Manufacturers, converters, and laminators can produce composites with film, foam, paper, membrane, nonwoven, tissue and other fabrics used in various industrial and consumer applications. These composites can provide customized drapeability, flexibility, elasticity and recovery based on the versatility of our elastomeric netting. For more detailed information about how to incorporate Conwed netting with other substrates, visit our Plastic Netting 101 section.
REBOUND ELASTICITY OPTIONS
Compared to other stretchable materials, such as spandex, films and stretchable nonwovens, our elastomeric netting can be designed with stretchability features in one or both directions of the web.

EXTRUDED CYLINDER TUBES

From specialty filtration and containment applications to more unusual moisture control products, our extruded tubes portfolio provides exceptional performance.
Extruded tubes are generally used to support, contain and separate. Most common applications are in filtration, where extruded tubes provide strength and rigidity to protect delicate filtration media. Our extruded cylinder tubes are manufactured following the same process as our extruded netting. They are made through a single-step continuous extrusion process that yields a plastic material with integral joints. All of our extruded cylinder tubes have a square mesh configuration and as opposed to seamed netting tubes, extruded cylinder tubes are stronger because of their consistent cylindrical shape made in one single-step.
Conwed can alter different characteristics to deliver precise tube configurations. Whether it is the mesh size and shape, the width and length or the diameter and chemical composition, we have exceptional customization capabilities.

Synthetic Fibers

Conwed manufactures specialty synthetic fibers used as the matrix element in permanent erosion control applications.
PROSTRAN synthetic fibers are designed and manufactured to provide excellent loft and matrix fill in Turf Reinforcement Mats (TRMs) for permanent erosion control applications. TRMs are permanent Rolled Erosion Control Products (RECPs) composed of non-degradable synthetic fibers, filaments, nets, wire mesh andor other elements, processed into a permanent, three-dimensional matrix of sufficient thickness.
TRMs are typically used in hydraulic applications, such as high flow ditches and channels, steep slopes, stream banks, and shorelines, where erosive forces may exceed the limits of natural, unreinforced vegetation or in areas where limited vegetation establishment is anticipated.
Manufacturers of TRMs use our PROSTRAN synthetic fibers with our oriented plastic netting to form superior erosion control products. Our portfolio includes a variety of colors, chemical formulations and recycled material that adapts to the requirements of the final application.

CO-EXTRUSION

Our co-extrusion technology helps our customers design the most advanced, flexible and strong composites.
Co-extrusion is a multi-layer extruded netting than can be subsequently oriented where different polymers can form different layers on the same netting configuration. It is a square netting construction and Conwed has the ability to build netting with AB, ABA, and ABC layer combinations.
Our customers thrive on the flexibility co-extrusion products provide in high-performance composites. Our co-extruded netting can be incorporated to nonwoven, foam, paper, film, membrane, tissue and other fabrics to become part of composites used in various industrial and consumer applications. By using co-extrusion netting with adhesive layers, manufacturers and converters may eliminate adhesive steps in their manufacturing and converting processes for specific product applications.
