Expansion Joints #4951115

Exhaust Expansion Joints

Exhaust Expansion Joints provide the ultimate vibration isolation and flexibility at the engine exhaust manifold. Exhaust Expansion Joints are required to absorb the thermal expansion of the piping. The sales and engineering departments at DME are eager to assist in selecting the proper expansion joints for your exhaust application. DME has been manufacturing Exhaust Expansion Joints for almost 40 years. DME has become the nameplace for exhaust components

Externally Pressurized Expansion Joints

The Externally Pressurized Expansion Joint is most commonly used in applications where large amounts of axial movement is necessary. DME offers a standard 350 Series single expansion joint with 4, 6, and 8 axial travels. For movement up to 16 axial travel, a dual expansion joint can be designed. It must be placed in the center of the piping run as it is designed to compress from both ends. DME can custom fabricate any externally pressurized expansion joint to meed your needs.

Single Bellows Expansion Joints

DME custom manufactures single bellows expansion joints in 1-12 through 104 diameters. Bellows design follows EJMA (Expansion Joint Manufacturers Association) standards and all welding is in accordance with ASME Section IX. T-321 stainless steel is the most widely used material for bellows applications. DME can also design and form single bellows expansion joints bellows in other alloys such as Inconel 625, Inconel 600, Inconel 825, Monel 400, Hastelloy C276, T-316-L stainless steel, T-304 stainless steel, T-310 stainless steel and many other alloys. Non-standard and metric sizes can also be furnished by DME. We have an extensive range of tooling to meet most custom requirements.

Turbine Expansion Joints

DME can custom build any Turbine Expansion Joint to meet our customers specific requirements. DME must be provided with the maximum forces allowed by the turbine manufacturer in order to design properly. Re-manufacturing is another option. DME can replace the failed bellows section and refurbish the old flanges and fittings at a substantial cost savings. Multi-ply bellows construction is widely used for the turbine expansion joint because of the very low spring forces and the vibration dampening characteristics. Customers should provide the natural frequency of the turbine in order for our engineering department to design the frequency of the bellows to insure trouble free operation.
