  • Modulation 406.028 MHz Biphase L (16KOG1D)
  • Vibration Withstands 10 Gs
  • Altitude 50, 000 ft
  • mo EBC 406HM
For military helicopter use. 720 degree spherical automatic activation. No external antenna or remote control monitor necessary. Transmits on 406.028, 121.5 & 243.0MHz. Painted flat black for night vision compatibility. Meets TSO-C91a and TSO-C126. Product Manual The EBC 406HM meets the special needs of those who use night vision equipment or who want a directdrop-in replacement for our EBC 302HM or EBC 502HM models. These ELTs are painted a non-reflective flat black as are the transmitters they replace. They have an integral antenna, therefore no external antenna is needed. They are installed in the cabin and so a Remote Control Monitor is not necessary. To meet the needs of our military or governmental users these ELTs transmit on three frequencies: 406.028, 121.5 and 243.0 MHz. A standard EBC406HM comes with a BB-12M bracket. For Apache helicopters there is another bracket the BB-15M. Installation is easy because the EBC 406HM mounting bracket uses the same three-screw-hole configuration as our older models. Simply remove the older model ELT and mounting bracket and attach the new unit. The system comes with a transmitter, integral tape antenna, mounting bracket, and a battery pack. If the ELT is activated a built-in monitor emits a loud beeping tone and the LED flashes. The integral tape antenna allows the ELT to transmit a good signal when used either inside or outside the aircraft. Intended for military or civilian governmental use it has been designed withthe newest technology. The EBC 406HM also incorporates the best andproven features that characterize all of EBCs emergency locator transmitters. These transmitters have encapsulated electronics and battery packs toprovide added protection against shock, moisture and other environmentalhazards. The EBC 406HM uses our proven omnidirectional activation system. Thissystem uses 2 omnidirectional switches mounted perpendicularly to eachother. Since each senses impact in 360 the total coverage is a true 360multiaxis activation switch. The switches are connected to a timing circuitso that only a crash, not a hard landing or vibration, will activate the unit.False alarms are therefore eliminated. A self-test feature is built into the EBC 406HM. This feature allows the pilotto test for output power on both 406.028 and 121.5 MHz, the connectionwith the antenna, and the condition of the digital signal. The EBC 406HM is approved by the FAA under TSO-C91a and TSO-C126, approved by COSPAS-SARSAT and meets FCC requirements under Part 87.
