Exel Composites Safety Masts are built out of fiberglass and based on thorough knowledge of composite technology. Fiberglass reinforced composite materials have numerous advantages compared to conventional materials like metal. Exel Safety Masts are made according to a special lattice structure and they have many innovative technical details in their construction. Just to name one detail, there is a patented diagonal-bar joint-bonding method that is used. As a consequence of this structure, the mast is very rigid. Even in strong winds and heavy ice loads, there will be very limited swaying, twisting, or oscillating that could cause the light beams to fluctuate. The construction strength can be altered in the airfield requires.

The Portable Lighting System is designed to provide visual landing aids during severe operational conditions of aircraft and helicopter without the use of on-ground equipment. The system is composed by portable lights, to be used as perimeter or approach lights, and a Portable Glide Path Indicator (PGPI).

The CALZONI Expeditionary Airfield Lighting is designed as a lighting system for aircrafthelicopter night operations for VMC use (Visual Meteorological Conditions) limited to VFR (Visual Flight Rules) to be used in severe conditions when standard equipment cannot be used. Different configurations of luminous source are available: runway lights (white), threshold lights (green), end lights (red). The system is modular and can consist of any type of the above lights, in variable quantity, depending on the operative configuration.

The CALZONI SEAL II is a Portable Lighting System for airfields based on LED. It is modular to accommodate stand-alone landing zones with incremental levels of operational capabilities. The light unit comprises of the runway lights (white), approach lights (white), threshold lights (green), end lights (red), and taxiway lights (blue). The system modules can consist of any type of the above lights in variable quantity, depending on the operative configuration. Each light uses an LED lighting source (high flux type) and dedicated lenses, as to increase the photometric characteristics and lifetime. This reduces the power consumption and the maintenance costs against the traditional incandescent lamps. With the LED source the system becomes NVG compatible and with the LED IR source the system conforms for "covert" operations.

ICAO recommends the use of at least one wind direction indicator (windcone), illuminated type, in case of night operations. The windcone mainly consists of a support structure and a fabric cone (truncated cone shape) with the characteristics requested from the ICAO standard. The windcone should be located to ensure a full visibility, avoiding any effects of turbulence and any disturbance to the maneuver; if not possible, two windcone should be positioned in different places. The internally illuminated windcone is available, for offshore and ship applications, in 120 cm long fabric sock, like that for elevated heliports, according to the ICAO standards (Annex 14, Vol. II, par. 5.1.1). The internal lighting is obtained by a LED source with high reliability and low maintenance.

The CALZONI RC 311 radio-controller complies with the FAA specifications for L-854 TYPE I AM receiver and Style A decoder. Consisting of an amplitude modulation radio receiver and an activation circuit, it operates at a fixed frequency and is suitable to switch on aerodrome lighting.
