Developed by Lu-Con Technologies of Flemington, NJ, Great Lakes Engineering announces the introduction of the Wave Glide™ innovative new Squeegee Blade designed to offer users a number of advantages over conventional squeegee blades. Great Lakes Engineering has become an official squeegee blade manufacturer of Wave Glide blades. These blades make excellent squeegee replacement blades because they are strong and affordable. The Wave Glide™ Squeegee Blade is designed to be custom fit to any blade holder on the market today using slots, not holes, eliminating the need to completely disassemble the blade holder when the blade needs replacement. Squeegee replacement blades can be difficult to install, but with Wave Glide squeegee replacement blades, the job is quick and easy! Due to its entry level design, the Wave Glide™ is a drop—in replacement for virtually any other blade you may already have in your application. And because it utilizes paste management technology, it removes the need for set up procedures and other issues. This makes it incredibly easy to install & run while lowering the amount of waste in your facility significantly.

Laser Cut Parts: Laser cutting is a technology that uses a laser to cut materials, and is typically used for industrial manufacturing applications. Laser cutting works by directing the output of a high power laser, by computer, at the material to be cut. The material then either melts, burns, vaporizes away, or is blown away by a jet of gas, leaving an edge with a high quality surface finish. Our laser cutters are used to cut flat-sheet material. Great Lakes Engineering employs computer-controlled Lumonics Screen Cut™ lasers and a Tannlin T8-SPS to cut stencils and thin foil parts to extremely high tolerance. The process is more precise, faster, and cleaner than chemical etching. It also requires little if any post-manufacturing processing and poses fewer direct environmental concerns. Many of the same products can be manufactured using different processes. Laser Cut Stencils: Industry trend toward miniaturization is leading to finer pitch requirements, high tolerances, and greater repeatability. Our state-of-the-art laser technology enables our customers to experience positional accuracy unattainable with conventional technology. Through this process, we can manufacture a laser cut stencil with aperture openings down to .003 inches. For optimum paste release, all of our Laser Cut stencils are tapered to be a 12 mil.Electroform Stencils: Electroforming technology – by definition – provides your manufacturing process inherent advantages over more traditional methods. Chemically Etched Parts: Great Lakes Engineering boasts over 30 years in photo chemical etching and metal etching technology. In essence, this is the process of printing (photo-plotting) a pattern on a metal foil and immersing it in a precise combination of chemistry in order to eat through (etch the pattern into) the metal. Many of the same products can be manufactured using different processes. Great Lakes Engineering has the experience to determine which process is appropriate for the application, tolerances, longevity, durability and cost.
