TRX (Triaxial) Coaxial Cable ISOLATION OF THE SHIELDS AND IMPROVED SHIELDING Periodically, isolation of shields in a coaxial cable is an important consideration. Harbour has constructed a number of TRX (Triaxial) cables, expanding the product line offered in the MIL-DTL-17 specification. (Currently, the MIL-DTL-17 specification defines only one triaxial — M17131-RG403, a triaxial version of M1793-RG178.) With an existing double braided construction, an interlayer of insulation is used between the two braids. With a single braided cable, an interlayer and a second braid is used. Complete isolation between the braids is realized, in addition to achieving a more effective shield configuration.

SFL Rock SStable Spiral Flex Coaxial Cable MORE FLEXIBLE AND SUPPLE CONSTRUCTION Harbour’s SFL Spiral Flex™ coaxial cables, more flexible and supple versions of the industry standard SS Spiral Strip constructions, are constructed with a specially formulated jacket compound and stranded silver plated copper center conductors. These 50 Ohm versions exhibit VSWR levels that meet or exceed similar size flexible constructions, and just like their SS cable counterparts, offer excellent shielding effectiveness with readily available connectors.

HS (High Strength) Coaxial Cable Harbour Industries HS (High Strength) coaxial cables are constructed for applications where breakage or fatigue is a concern. Frequently, installation or termination and severe vibration of smaller size MIL-DTL-17 coaxial cables result in stressing of individual strands of the outer braid or the center conductor. To correct this situation, Harbour’s High Strength HIS cables are configured with conductors exhibiting higher break strengths than standard silver plated copper. Accordingly, a flex life 25 times greater than comparable RG constructions can be expected.
