The M-Series Tiny-Clutches combine the high torque capacity of a spring clutch with the convenience and control of a conventional electric clutch. Based on a standard wrap spring clutch, with the added feature of an electromagnetic coil that actuates it, these clutches consumes a mere 2.5 Watts of power. When power is off, the hub & shaft are free to rotate independently. When power is on, it causes the spring to wrap down, coupling the hubs together & transmitting torque. The slight magnetic force is used only to maintain a tightly wrapped spring. The sleeve is screwed or pinned to your shaft & clutch may be driven through either the sleeve or the hub.
Detail : M-Series Tiny-Clutches are available for shafts up to 13mm, torque loads up to 50in/lb & speeds up to 3000RPM. Special input or output hubs are available upon request to suit customers' needs. We will design & build special or modified clutches for your application using stock components. Clutches can be supplied with gears, sprockets, pullies or as complete mechanical assemblies consisting of clutch, shaft and adjacent parts.
M-Series Clutch Mounting : Tiny-Clutch M-Series Clutches should be mounted so that a stationary pin engages the slot in the torque arm. It is important that the torque arm is not firmly screwed down but allowed to float, as this may prevent the clutch from operating normally. We can provide a variety of adapter hubs made to your specifications to adapt our clutch to your application.

The AD-Series Tiny-Clutches combine the high torque capacity of a spring clutch with a bidirectional free wheeling output. These clutches are suited for use in applications such as, coil winding, spool winding, film drives or any similar application requiring an automatically free wheeling clutch. When torque is applied to the input it forces the spring to wrap down on the output drum. In this condition the clutch will drive. When torque is removed from the input, the spring is free to relax and unwind, thus decoupling the input from the output automatically, leaving the output free to rotate in both directions. The sleeve is screwed, pinned or keyed to your shaft & clutch may be driven through either the sleeve or the hub.
Detail : AD-Series Tiny-Clutches are available for Shafts up to 11/8" & torque loads up to 350lbs-in 39.5Nm. Special input or output hubs are available upon request to suit customers' needs. We will design & build special or modified clutches for your application using stock components. Clutches can be supplied with gears, sprockets, pullies or as complete mechanical assemblies consisting of clutch, shaft and adjacent parts.
Autodisconnect Clutch Mounting : The AD-Series clutches should be mounted so that a stationary pin engages the slot in the torque arm. It is important that the torque arm is not firmly screwed down but allowed to float, as this may prevent the clutch from operating normally.

SP-Series Tiny-Clutches are versatile line of wrap spring clutches available in the following configurations : Overrunning, On-Off, Indexing, Adjustable Indexing & Positive Stop Indexing. The various configurations allow great flexibility in application.
The basic spring clutch consists of three parts : An input hub, an output hub, and a spring. The greater the force the tighter the spring grips the hubs. When the rotation is reversed, the spring loosens its grip and slips. In the free direction there is slight drag caused by the spring being slightly smaller than the drums.

A-Series Tiny-Clutches are miniature roller and cam type single revolution clutches. They also function as a general purpose, rapid action clutch for selectively coupling a continuously rotating input and a driven shaft. The clutch features fast response, high torque capacity for a given size and are not subject to overheating. Power is applied to the clutch housing through a pulley, gearor sprocket mounted on the housing shoulder & the cam is pinned or keyed to the driven shaft. A trip lug on the outer shoulder releases the clutch and stopping the shaft. The clutch remains free until the pawl is moved away from the trip lug. The driven shaft is always disengaged at a predetermined position & may be disengaged at intermediate points of rotation by adding additional lugs, resulting in simple control for indexing. The trip may be activated manually, mechanically, or electromagnetically.

CR-Series Tiny-Clutches are captured roller and cam assemblies that work the same as our D-Series, but which are installed in your housing. The clutch has near zero backlash & allows high overrunning speeds, making them ideal for machines requiring overrunning, backstopping, freewheeling or one-way clutches, such as inclined conveyors, tape and film drives, riveters, stampers etc. CR-Series clutches are a proven cam and roller principle that provides long trouble free life. The outer housing and cam drive each other through wedging action between the rollers and the housing. The rollers are maintained in contact with the housing by individual springs & side plates capture the rollers in position relative to the cam. Power may be applied to the clutch through either the housing or the shaft. Clutches may be mounted for either R.H. or L.H. drive & the cam is screwed or keyed to the shaft. Materials - Cam is hardened & ground Steel; Rollers are hardened & ground ball bearing type steel. All stainless clutches are also available.
Detail : CR-Series Tiny-Clutches are available for shafts up to 1/2", torque loads up to 25lbs-in 2.8Nm & speeds up to 7000RPM. We will design & build special or modified clutches for your application using stock components. Clutches can be supplied as complete mechanical assemblies consisting of clutch, shaft and adjacent parts.
CR-Series Roller Clutch Benefits :
CR-Series Roller Clutch Mounting : The CR-Series Clutches should be installed according to good bearing practice, using either bushings or bearings. It is important the clutch NOT be used as a roller bearing.
For best performance, race should be concentric with housing bearing within .002 T.I.R. : Unhardened steel housing races are adequate for many applications. Housings with a race surface hardened to Rockwell C-60 are recommended for high torque, shock duty or for high overrunning speeds.
