Alloy quenched and tempered (Q&T) steel plate is created with the necessary hardness and durability to be used in applications that must withstand severe impact and abrasion. Leeco Steel stocks an extensive supply of Q&T steel plate in a variety of grades that can be used in dump bodies, bucket components, mining and construction equipment, welded bridges and other construction, welded boilers, pressure vessels, hauling and lifting equipment and other structural applications where its strength can be utilized to reduce weight.

Leeco Steel offers structural steel plate that meets the European standard for structural steel. We carry EN 10025: 2004, in grades of S235, S275, S355, S420, S690 and S890. The foundation of each grade within the EN 10025 standard is the materials tested yield strength measured in megapascals (1 MPa = .145 ksi). Each structural steel grade begins with an "S" and is followed by suffixes that represent variations in the specific requirement for that structural application.

Heavy steel plate is used in a variety of applications across a multitude of industries. Abrasion Resistant (AR) steel plate is typically made in the as-rolled condition. These typesgrades of steel plate products have been developed specifically for long service life in harsh conditions. AR products are suitable for a variety of applications in areas such as miningquarrying, conveyors, material handling and construction, and earthmoving. Designers and plant operators choose AR plate steel when striving to extend service life of critical components, and reduce the weight of each unit put into service. The benefits of employing wear-resistant plate steel in applications involving impact andor sliding contact with abrasive material are immense. Steel plate for use in abrasive conditions is not typical because it is not governed by any ASTM code or spec. Many steel plate manufacturers produce their own brand of abrasion resistant steel and these are usually distinguished by a brand name followed by the hardness of the steel which is measured in Brinell units

Carbon plate steels main interstitial alloying constituent is carbon, hence the name, at a variety of concentrations. As carbon percentage content rises, steel has the ability to become harder and stronger through heat-treating. High carbon steel is very strong. Low carbon steel is more malleable and ductile and is easier to cold form. Leeco Steel maintains a solid inventory of lowhigh carbon, non structural steel plate at each of our distribution centers.
