Our custom screw machining services are capable of milling, drilling, turning, boring, knurling, reaming, grinding, polishing, deburring, forming, and sizing as well as broaching, slotting, and deep hole drilling. Threading includes tapping, external and internal thread cutting, and thread rolling. We offer 3-axis machining and multi-spindle equipment. Our shop can also provide high-speed machining.We are confident working with metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, steel, brass, copper, bronze, nickel, titanium, and zinc as well as non-metals including UHMW and PTFE. Madison Tool & Die, Inc. was approached by an automotive industry customer requiring our custom CNC turning services. The rear end differential rings requested by this Midwestern customer were to be used in the heavy duty construction vehicle industry. Our analysis determined that the 7.5", 112-tooth rings would require three machining operations, they included CNC turning (turn OD and ID and machine faces) and vertical machining.We began with 2" thick gray cast iron which we machined on our Mazak CNC Duo Turn turning center and our Haas Vertical machining center, to tolerance of 0.0005". The finished components then had rust prevention coating applied. t Madison Tool, we specialize in high quality screw machining. Our reputation brought this automotive industry customer to us with the bleeder screw project highlighted here. The customers previous supplier was not able to provide the precision, quality, and consistency that they required, so they looked to us for help. This project represents a long term commitment from the customer, and high volume manufacturing from us.The customer had several objectives in regards to the production schedule; they needed to stock their new warehouse on the west coast within a short timeframe, and required weekly deliveries to maintain their production schedule. To meet these requirements we produce these bleeder screws at a rate of 100, 000 per day.Madison Tool is well positioned to meet various bleeder screw project requirements, supplying 89 different bleeder screws from inventory, in a range of screw sizes from 316 to 78. We can provide various coatings and surface treatments, brass seat inserts, and bleeder screws with O-rings. Our bleeder screws are commonly used in many automotive applications including, ATVs, snow mobiles, military vehicles, forklifts, motorcycles, and even mining equipment. Our company will also ship worldwide. An automotive industry customer came to Madison Tool & Die, Inc. seeking precision CNC turning services to manufacture this cast iron brake drum. The drums were to be used in the brake systems of large commercial trucks. Fully equipped to handle such requests, we made use of our Daewoo Puma 550 twin spindle vertical machine center for the CNC machining of these 136 lb. gray cast iron parts. Subsequent operations were performed using a Doosan DMN 400 drill and a BTI balancing machine. Tolerances of 0.001" were achieved for these 18" x 36" components. We also spray painted to customer spec's. An automotive industry customer came to Madison Tool & Die, Inc. seeking high volume custom screw machining and threading services. The customer required steel flanged inserts for use in the automotive industry. The inserts would be used in plastic injection molded parts on an automotive application.Madison Tool and Die is highly experienced in the production of a wide variety of inserts molded into plastic moldings. Our unique radial knurl provides strong resistance to pull-out and rotation. We also use a 6 spindle screw machine, ideal for automated high volume production.The 716", -20, 12L14 steel inserts, were completed to customer tolerances of 0.005". The parts were also finished with a 210 zinc clear chromate plate.
