Flapbrushes bring an entire new dimension to buffing by eliminating the need for buffing compounds. These nonwoven wheels are constructed such that the abrasive media is part to the buff itself. And by altering grain size of the abrasive, the grits available run from coarse through very fine. The firmness, or density, of the buff may be varied from soft to firm. The use of nonwoven flapbrushes requires minimal operator training, and also provides consistent results between operators. These units are typically used to provide satin finishes, popular in plumbing and door hardware. Matchless flapbrushes are available in diameters from 4" to 20", with face widths from 1" to 6". The grits available are coarse, medium, fine and very fine, with varying densities or firmness. The most popular construction is aluminum oxide; silicon carbide is also available.

As the delivery mechanism for compounds, selecting the right buffing wheel is an important factor in successful finishing. To this end, Matchless supplies full disk buffs, bias airway buffs, sisal (both bias and full disk), and clothsisal constructions. These buffs are available in a wide variety of cloths, sewing arrangements, diameters, face widths, arbor sizes, and dip treatments. Just like our compounds, our buffing wheels are constructed to your specific requirements and quantities.
