Air Cooled Buffs sometimes referred to as "Ventilated" or "Airway", has pleated cloth and is held by a metal clinch ring in the center. Diameters run from 8" to 16" (even measurements only) with centers from 3" to 7", with adapters for various arbor holes. The amount of cloth in each section is designated by #2 and #4; the least amount of cloth being #2. The more cloth, the tighter and more aggressive the buff.
The EOL (laminated) Sisal Buff is sewn with cotton fabric and sisal. This buff is used for cutting on all types of metal, but is less aggressive than the plain sisal buff. The Plain Sisal Buff is made of burlap material. This buff is very aggressive and is used on all types of metals for course cutting. Both buffs are spirally sewn at 38", 14", and 18". These two types of buffs are available from 4" to 20" diameters.
Treated Sisal Buffs are sisal buffs treated to make them very aggressive. The treated buff is indicated by color. The green buff being more aggressive than the yellow. Both for fast cutting down operation and even non-streak finishes. The red buff is the most aggressive of the three colors. Buffs are available in 4" and 20" diameters.
Muslin Buffs are full disc cotton buffs used for coloring and finishing all types of metals. These buffs can be sewn spirally from 1 8 " to 3 4 " and concentrically 12", 34", or 1 ". The closer the stitch, the harder the buff. Loose muslin being the softest with only one row of sewing around the arbor hole. These buffs are available in 20 ply (14" wide), 40 ply (12" wide), and 60 ply (78" wide). Muslin Buffs are available from 4" to 20" diameters. We also carry Yellow Treated Muslin buffs for slightly aggressive coloring.
Centerless Buffs are miniature airway buffs available in 6" and 8" diameters only. They come standard with a 1 34" arbor hole, with adapters available from 12" up to 1 14" arbor hole. They are available in white and yellow muslin material and are ideal for all smaller "coloring" operations.
Razor Edge Buffs are ideal to get into areas where no other buffs can reach. Tapered from the center to finish on a razor edge end, the buffs are available in 2 12" through 8" diameters, in unbleached cotton muslin or in the harder yellow treated material.
Goblet Buffs are made for buffing the inside of bowls, cups, mugs, lamps, etc., or any inside surface needing both the sides and bottom finished. Goblet buffs can come in various forms (round, tapered, square, or cylinder). Used with tapered spindles.
Black Stainless (SS-77, A-16) black bar for cutting; 17 -19bars per case. Red Jeweler's Rouge (7WS) dark maroon jeweler's rouge for very fine finishing; 22 bars per case. Green Chrome Rouge (C-3, C-311) green rouge for coloring; 17-18 bars per case. Brown-Red Tripoli (D-14, T-15) reddish-brown tripoli for cutting and coloring; 20 bars per case. White Crome Rouge (FW2) white bar for finishing all chrome metals; 18-19 bars per case. Learock Compound (#884, 9B52) #884 is a whitish-gray rolled bar for coloring; 30 bars per case #9B52 is a tan bar for coloring; 25 bars per case. Black Magic and Blue Moon brass and aluminum coloring compound; 24 bars per case.
