The PR100RT90 is a version of the PR100 series print and apply systems that incorporates a 90 degree rotation of the tamp actuator. This 90 degree rotation allows the PR100RT90 Applicator to pick the label from a horizontal plane and place it on a vertical plane. The Eclipse 1000 is a Plate Labeling System configured to provide the customer to completely control all motions and actions of the plate labeling process. It includes three axes of motion (X, Y, and R). The axes of motion provide the integrator with total freedom in terms of determining at what positions on the Plate labels will be applied. The PR100RT90 Applicator in the Eclipse 1000 can be controlled by customer automation including interface with an optional Barcode Reader and all functions and motions of the tamp actuator.

In order to develop motion hardware to meet the very specific requirements of our applicator and lab automation products Nautilus Systems, Inc. has developed a series of specialized servo motors that we have made available to the automation market. The Eclipse 200 Plate Labeling System is a Plate Labeling System that builds upon the Eclipse 150 Plate Labeling System. The Eclipse 200 includes an integrated HMI panel and controller that allows the Eclipse 200 to handle more complex tasks such as configuring print jobs from the panel andor communicating with external systems (PCs or other lab automation instruments) to accept print data from those systems and send print results to those systems. The Eclipse 200 also adds motion control hardware to automatically rotate the Plate between four positions. This allows the system to follow a sequence to automatically apply up to four Labels per Plate (centered on each side of an SBS footprint plate. The Eclipse200 also includes a manual adjustment to raiselower the Plate Nest to control the position of Label on the Plate in the vertical axis.

The Eclipse 250 Plate Labeling System builds upon the Eclipse 200 Plate Labeling System. In addition to the motion control hardware required to rotate the Plate between four positions the Eclipse 250 includes motion control to allow for automatic adjustment of the Plate in the vertical axis. The Eclipse 250 includes an integrated HMI panel and controller that allows the Eclipse 250 to handle more complex tasks such as configuring print jobs from the panel andor communicating withexternal systems (PCs or other lab automation instruments) to accept print data from those systems and send print results to those systems. The Eclipse 250 motion control hardware automatically rotates the Plate between four positions and can automatically raise or lower the Plate to control Label application height. This allows the system to follow a sequence to automatically apply up to four labels per Plate (centered on each side of an SBS footprint plate.)

The Eclipse 100 is our most basic print and apply Plate Labeling System. This system was developed to meet needs in the laboratory automation market. The Eclipse100 is based on our PR100RT90 Applicator and a stationary nest system that allows the user to manually load plates and apply labels to those plates in up to four positions (centered on each side of an SBS footprint plate. The Operator manually rotates the Plate for Plates that require more than one side labeled. The Eclipse100 is setup to allow the user to send print data from their own PC or other system, or to print from files stored in the printer memory, and does not include an integrated HMI panel.

The PR100r is the robot mode version of our PR100 print and apply systems. The PR100r is a highly advanced print and peel system designed for challenging labeling requirements. High resolution (600 dots per inch) thermal transfer print quality combined with NSIs retracting peel technology provides an excellent solution for any label application. The standard Tamp is included with all i-series Applicators (PL100i, PL165i, PL100EPi, PL165EPi, etc). This module provides 175mm of precision guided vertical motion utilizing a pneumatic actuator. The Standard Tamp is used when the adhesive component must be removed from the liner and placed onto a relatively flat surface, on a parallel plane, directly in line with the position that the adhesive component is peeled from the liner.

Based on our standard PL100 Applicator series we have adapted our systems to reliably apply Hang Tab components of virtually any shape successfully for a variety of packaging applicators. he newest addition to our JAZZ Cell family of products incorporates a SCARA robot to provide a highly flexible assembly system. The Robot, of industry-standard type, can be used to remove adhesive components from an array of up to 3 PL100 Applicators. It can also be used to transfer substrates between the Applicators for multiple adhesive component placements. This module provides an additional axis of motion control to allow the Tamp to move on a horizontal plane. This module is typically used in applications in which the die-cut adhesive components may include variation in their position on the liner, in the non-feed or cross-web axis, that exceeds the allowable specifications for assembly. The Sidescan Tamp includes a sensor that is used to register the edge of the adhesive component so that the system can automatically correct for variation in that axis.

The JAZZ300A is a version of our configurable automation platform specifically designed to process components that are supplied in JEDEC Trays. The JAZZ 300A includes a Tray Handler system that provides Input and Output stack capacity for 20 Trays. The JAZZ 300A also features an XY Servo Table with travels of approximately 300 x 300mm and one or more Applicator units. The Applicators can include PL100r, PL100i, PL165r, and PL165r units. In addition to this standard equipment NSI can provide specialized Vacuum Transfer systems to remove product from JEDEC Trays and replace them there after processing. The JAZZ X4 is a configurable automation platform. It incorporates a multi-axis (3 or 4 axes) gantry robot. NSI designs and implements specialized tooling attachments as required to interface with your products during assembly operations. An alternative version of the JAZZ X4 replaces the gantry type robot with a SCARA robot can also be provided.

The PL100-TTP and PL165-TTP provide an excellent package for precision print and apply applications. Either a PL100 or a PL165 Applicator, based on the width of the label material, can be configured with a Thermal Transfer Printer (TTP) unit to provide an integrated print and apply system. TTP units are available in 4, 6, or 8 width capacities and with 300 or 600 dpi print resolution. The output of the TTP unit is fed directly into the PL Applicator. A small loop of material is maintained between the TTP and the PL Applicator which is monitored by sensors to ensure that adequate material is always available to allow both systems to operate correctly. The TTP system is compatible with virtually all major label configuration software packages and is incorporates several potential methods for communication including Ethernet, RS-232, and Compact Flash program storage. The PL100-TTP and PL165-TTP are configured for labeling applications with high accuracy requirements and high resolution printing requirements and fully compatible with virtually any label shape and even with multiple labels that must be printed and applied in tandem. Our ET200 Electric Tamp Module is available as a standard option on all of our PL100 and PL165 Applicator products. Key benefits of the ET200 include rapid acceleration and deceleration, digital control of the tamp motion profile, elimination of two pneumatic cylinders and associated sensors and flow controls, and reduced compressed air consumption. The ET200 is typically as fast as our pneumatic tamp but with significantly greater control of the motion profile including a push move in which the ET200 approaches the target rapidly then decelerates and applies the adhesive component at a controlled rate until a force threshold, based on motor torque, is met. This eliminates the impact and vibration resulting from a fast-moving pneumatic tamp actuator. Please contact us for additional info on this optional module.

The FLEX TVF (Tube and Vial Feeder) is our standard system for automated feeding of Tubes or Vials. It is an all-electric system. It provides a bulk storage hopper into which an Operator (or other automation) can place a large number of Tubes or Vials. The FLEX TVF then uses our patented technology to, gently and quietly, automatically separate individual Tubes from the bulk storage and deposit them individually onto an output conveyor as required by downstream automation equipment. For each Tube configuration that will run in the FLEX TVF we configure a specific tooling package that is intended to be modular to allow the user to easily changeover the TVF system to run other Tubes or Vials when needed. These tubes, consisting of layers of laminations or wood veneer, are manufactured with an 18 wall, with tube diameters increasing in 12 increments from 1 12 to 6. This lightweight product is unbelievably strong and very easy to work with. Cutting has been compared to cutting molding or trim. Cutting these tubes so that they intersect will open the doors to limitless opportunities. Uses consist of but are not limited to, edging for tables and shelves, end caps, containers, column & pole enclosures, and much more. The Eclipse 150 is a Plate Labeling System that builds upon the Eclipse 100 Plate Labeling System. The Eclipse 150 includes an integrated HMI panel and controller that allows the Eclipse 150 to handle more complex tasks such as configuring print jobs from the panel andor communicating with external systems (PCs or other lab automation instruments) to accept print data from those systems and send print results to those systems. The Eclipse 150 includes a stationary nest that allows the user to manually load plates and apply labels to those plates in up to four positions (centered on each side of an SBS footprint plate). The Operator manually rotates the Plate for Plates that require more than one side labeled.

The Eclipse 400 Plate Labeling System is our most advanced and fully integrated system for Plate Labeling. It includes Plate Stackers to hold up to a total of 50 Plates without Labels and 50 Plates with Labels. The Eclipse 400 system automatically transfers Plates from one stack, through the labeling system, and to another stack. The ServoTamp is a high-speed tamp actuator that incorporates two axes of servo motion. One axis provides high-speed vertical motion and the other high-speed horizontal motion. The combination of these two axes allow any PL series applicator to run at higher rates due to parallel processing of certain operations that occur sequentially in pneumatic tamp units. The PL100-TTP and PL165-TTP Applicator provide an excellent package for precision print and apply applications. Either a PL100 or a PL165 Applicator, based on the width of the label material, can be configured with a Thermal Transfer Printer (TTP) unit to provide an integrated print and apply system. TTP units are available in 4, 6, or 8 width capacities and with 300 or 600 dpi print resolution. The output of the TTP unit is fed directly into the PL Applicator. A small loop of material is maintained between the TTP and the PL Applicator which is monitored by sensors to ensure that adequate material is always available to allow both systems to operate correctly. The FLEX TVF (Tube and Vial Feeder) is our standard system for automated feeding of Tubes or Vials. It is an all-electric system. It provides a bulk storage hopper into which an Operator (or other automation) can place a large number of Tubes or Vials. The FLEX TVF then uses our patented technology to, gently and quietly, automatically separate individual Tubes from the bulk storage and deposit them individually onto an output conveyor as required by downstream automation equipment. For each Tube configuration that will run in the FLEX TVF we configure a specific tooling package that is intended to be modular to allow the user to easily changeover the TVF system to run other Tubes or Vials when needed.
