Designed for reliable performance, our full line of Airframe Control Bearings are manufactured and inspected in accordance with Aerospace Standards AS7949. They possess a low coefficient of friction and low torque, which are suitable performance factors for applications with oscillating motion or slow intermittent rotation. Precision construction assures excellent radial and axial positioning. SAE 52100 chrome steel with cadmium plating is standard; 440C stainless steel is also available. Unless otherwise specified, these bearings have a full ball complement design.

NHBB customizes rod ends to hold heavier loads, operate at temperature extremes, provide stronger fatigue resistance and meet requirements for angular misalignment. Our stainless steel cadmium-free rod ends are the industrys first to meet ACBG standards AS819356, 7, 8 and 9, offering equivalent dimensions and performance to cadmium-plated rod ends without the potential risks and regulatory burdensincluding European Union environmental regulationsassociated with cadmium. Our rod end bearings come in either metal-to-metal or self-lubricating PTFE-lined versions. Metals include cadmium-free stainless steel, titanium, Inconel 718 (a nickel-chromium based super-alloy for high-temperature applications), and Stellite (cobalt and nickel-based alloys).

Miniature & Instrument Bearings This product line encompasses inch and metric series radial and angular contact ball bearings from 0.1250 in. to 1.8504 in. O.D. Optional features include flanges, shields and seals, extended inner rings, and modified dimensions. Duplex and super duplex constructions are also available. Our high speed angular contact bearings operate comfortably at speeds above 500, 000 rpm. Many alternatives exist for improving high speed performance and operating life, including premium bearing steels, ceramic balls, proprietary lubricants, and machined cages made from phenolic and Torlon .

Engineered for life-critical commercial and military aircraft applications, our cylindrical roller bearings are manufactured to RBEC 5 tolerances in sizes ranging from 0.8661 in. to 11.024 in. O.D. Standard features and options include: nine different ring configurations; rings and rollers made from either SAE 52100 or M-50; machined, one-piece, metallic roller cages; and rollers of equal length and diameter (rectangular rollers are also available). Customized solutions include elements that satisfy a multitude of mounting and operating requirements. Options include high temperature alloys, case hardened rings, extended housings, integral mounting flanges, puller grooves, anti-rotation notches, oil scavenge holes, out-of-round raceway geometries, and more.

Loader slot bearings are generally recommended for applications with vibratory or static loads which produce small relative motion between the ball and race. Loader slots possess excellent ball-to-race conformity, which increases resistance to damage from vibration. When wear does occur, the ball can be replaced without removing the bearing assembly from the housing, which reduces downtime and lowers maintenance costs. NHBB manufactures spherical loader slot bearings in sizes ranging from 0.5625 in. to 3.625 in. O.D. and two-piece rod end loader slots with head diameters from 0.680 in. to 2.681 in. O.D. Standard features include fully interchangeable Stellite balls and Nitride (or Malcomize) spherical race I.D.s. Rod ends have male threads; keyways are optional.

f you want to extend bearing operational life, especially under conditions of marginal lubrication, consider specifying NHBBs hybrid ceramic ball bearings. NHBBs precision, hybrid ceramic ball bearings are an excellent choice for high speed applications. A ceramic (silicon nitride) ball weighs less than a steel ball, is stiffer, and has a near-perfect geometry and superior surface finish. These properties enable a bearing to operate at higher speeds and reduced temperatures with less wear. Noise and vibration levels are also kept to a minimum. Furthermore, ceramic balls are corrosion resistant, nonmagnetic, and able to withstand repeated autoclaving, which makes hybrid ceramic ball bearings a good choice for medical and dental applications.
