NHBB manufactures standard and custom designed ball bearing solutions for a myriad of aerospace, defense, dental, high tech, and medical applications. Our product lines feature inch and metric series ball bearings ranging in size from 0.1250 in. to 11 in. O.D. The following product families are described below: miniature & instrument ball bearings , dental bearings, hybrid ceramic bearings, large aerospace ball bearings, and torque tube & thin section (Thinex) ball bearings. Miniature & Instrument Bearings This product line encompasses inch and metric series radial and angular contact ball bearings from 0.1250 in. to 1.8504 in. O.D. Optional features include flanges, shields and seals, extended inner rings, and modified dimensions. Duplex and super duplex constructions are also available. Our high speed angular contact bearings operate comfortably at speeds above 500, 000 rpm. Many alternatives exist for improving high speed performance and operating life, including premium bearing steels, ceramic balls, proprietary lubricants, and machined cages made from phenolic and Torlon ®.

Engineered for life-critical commercial and military aircraft applications, our cylindrical roller bearings are manufactured to RBEC 5 tolerances in sizes ranging from 0.8661 in. to 11.024 in. O.D. Standard features and options include: nine different ring configurations; rings and rollers made from either SAE 52100 or M-50; machined, one-piece, metallic roller cages; and rollers of equal length and diameter (rectangular rollers are also available). Customized solutions include elements that satisfy a multitude of mounting and operating requirements. Options include high temperature alloys, case hardened rings, extended housings, integral mounting flanges, puller grooves, anti-rotation notches, oil scavenge holes, out-of-round raceway geometries, and more.

Spherical bearings from NHBB address the unique operating parameters faced by engineers in the aerospace, defense, and other high technology industries. We customize bearings to work outside the standard spectrum of load, temperature, fatigue resistance, and angular misalignment. Our Astro Division developed the first liner system for spherical bearings that qualifies to the threshold of 100, 000 cycles for bearing life (industry standard AS81820 Type 'A'). Our customized and standard bearings also include swaged, split ball, spit race, fracture race, snap assembled, and loader slot. NHBB understands the importance of choosing materials to match your operating environment. We design bearings using cadmium-free stainless steel, titanium, Inconel® 718 (a nickel-chromium based super-alloy for high-temperature applications), and Stellite™ (cobalt and nickel-based alloy), in both metal-to-metal and self-lubricating PTFE-lined versions. INVINSYS® A longer lasting pitch control bearing system With INVINSYS®, NHBB has established a new performance benchmark for rotary wing pitch control applications. Loader slot bearings are generally recommended for applications with vibratory or static loads which produce small relative motion between the ball and race. Loader slots possess excellent ball-to-race conformity, which increases resistance to damage from vibration. When wear does occur, the ball can be replaced without removing the bearing assembly from the housing, which reduces downtime and lowers maintenance costs. NHBB manufactures spherical loader slot bearings in sizes ranging from 0.5625 in. to 3.625 in. O.D. and two-piece rod end loader slots with head diameters from 0.680 in. to 2.681 in. O.D. Standard features include fully interchangeable Stellite® balls and Nitride (or Malcomize) spherical race I.D.s. Rod ends have male threads; keyways are optional.

Custom rod end bearings from NHBB are the choice of engineers dealing with unique geometries and dimensional constraints. NHBB customizes rod ends to hold heavier loads, operate at temperature extremes, provide stronger fatigue resistance and meet requirements for angular misalignment. We also offer ball bearing rod ends for low friction, low backlash applications. For both custom and standard applications, we understand the importance of choosing materials to match your operating environment. Our stainless steel cadmium-free rod ends are the industry’s first to meet ACBG standards AS819356, 7, 8 and 9, offering equivalent dimensions and performance to cadmium-plated rod ends without the potential risks and regulatory burdens—including European Union environmental regulations—associated with cadmium. Our rod end bearings come in either metal-to-metal or self-lubricating PTFE-lined versions.
