Amazing quality antique Persian Kashan Rug from central Persia made in the early Twentieth Century. It has a breath-takingly beautiful medallion and spandrels; the floral field is more open and with larger motifs than later date Kashan rugs. The border patterns are also expertly considered (designed) with the major motifs linking seemlessly even into and around the corners of the rug. It has a wool pile: this has a fantastically glossy, silky feel to it. The wool pile is hand-knotted onto a cotton foundation with a tight double weft construction. The colours are superb, and have retained their vibrancy. The brown leaves in the centre of the medallion have experienced some age-related corrosion (see image 6 below).

Fairy "Glowy" Rug (Spirit Glowy 3094-44) Special Effect: some white elements of the rug will glow in the dark. Handtufted. 97% Espirelle Acrylic, 3% PES Glowy Yarn. The fast-spun acrylic thread "Espirelle" is especially robust and ensures the rug is pleasingly soft to touch - it feels like wool.

Gabbeh Rug 1.25x0.80m This Persian Gabbeh Rug has a cool modern chequerboard design with a plain red border. It has a thick, soft wool pile formed by handtied knots knotted onto a wool foundation.

Kolyai Kelleghi Rug 3.15x1.62m A Kelleghi is a dimensional term for a narrow carpet size such as 3.00x1.50m or 10'x5', i.e. it's length being twice it's width. This Kolyai Rug is especially interesting: the colours selected are unusual. The mainfield colour is a purply-blue shade and the main border is pink. The design is also curious as the medallion is elegant, and the field motifs depict a varient of the Herati (fish and flower) design but in an unusual squared-off compartmentalised form. The quality of this Kolyai Kelleghi Rug is excellent - it is solidly made and has a durable woollen pile knotted onto a cotton foundation with a double weft construction.

This is an exceptionally fine Persian Nain Rug. Unusually, this Persian Nain Rug has silk warp threads (cotton is the usually warp thread material) i.e. the fringes are silk. The thinness of the silk warps enable the weaver to tie even smaller knots. The knot count is enviable at around 650 per square inch. Along with this extraordinary knotting is an exquisite design. This design is most unusual; it takes the form of an all over compartmentalised format, yet with an understated medallion centre. The pile consists of wool and silk. The majority is wool, but this is the finest grade: kork wool which is from the sheeps neck and underbelly. Many of the design ornaments are outlined with silk tracery. In this Nain Rug there are an amazing 3 different colours of silk used (these include: white, blue, and yellow, ) - seldom are so many shades of silk used in Nain weaving.

The medallion and floral style of this Bidjar Rug is more unusual than the Herati design that is typically found in Bidjar rugs. The design contrasts superbly against the beige background creating a truly eye-catching piece. This fine small Persian Bidjar Rug is in the region of 30-40 years old. The pile is thinner than the Herati type Bidjar, but is nevertheless compact and sturdy. The pile consists of wool formed by knots tied onto a cotton foundation. The weave is particularly fine, tight and consistent.
