Stainless steel cut wire shot is our particular specialty. Stainless steel cut wire shot is being used in an increasing number of important applications where ferrous contamination in blasting stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, or other non-ferrous work objects could be harmful. It is also used in peening these metals (stainless steel, titanium, brass or aluminum) in work objects that are subject to stress corrosion cracking. Cut wire does not fracture or break down during use because it is a solid piece. (You wont need as much shot, inventory requirements will be lower, and inbound freight will cost less.)You will NOT introduce ferrous contamination to non-ferrous castings or work objects as occurs with the use of cast steel or carbon cut wire shot AVAILABLE IN TWO SERIES WITH DIFFERENT HARDNESS 300 SERIES 302304 Spring Wire Class I Applications: Prevents ferrous contamination when blasting or peening stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, or other non-ferrous work objects. Specs: Available in conditioned form with certification to meet MILS 13165C, SAE J441, and aerospace specification AMS 24314. Stainless Steel Cut Wire Shot has a Rockwell C hardness of 50 - 58 HRC. 316 Wire Available on a special order basis, 316 is a higher nickel-bearing grade and offers superior corrosion resistance in heat exchangers and fluidized beds. Being non magnetic, it can be used in tumbling or vibratory applications where magnetic separation is desired. This material has a Rockwell C hardness of 30 35. 400 SERIES 430 Alloy Type 430 is a straight chrome grade and available where lower hardness media is desired. Applications: For preparing aluminum for paint removal and on aluminum die castings for deflashing and finishing. Specs: Prevents ferrous contamination but softer (at HRC 30 35) and less expensive than 300 Series Stainless.

Applications: Surface improvement, deburring, descaling, shot blasting, and peening of metal parts. Specs: Available in regular spring-wire grades yielding a hardness of 45 to 52 HRC and in special high-carbon grades of 55 to 62 HRC. We can supply Carbon Steel Cut Wire Shot to meet AMS 24313 and 24318 aerospace specifications.

Applications: Cleaning aluminum or other non-ferrous castings that require a satin-type finish while still removing parting lines or other blemishes. Specs: Aluminum cut wire shot is available in mixed aluminum grades (4043, 5053) as well as alloy grades such as Type 5356. Our mixed grades yield middle B range (approximately 40) Rockwell hardness while type 5356 will yield higher Rockwell B hardness in the 50 to 70 range.

Applications: Used primarily to clean or peen parts and components where conductivity is important and cannot be interfered with. Also used for paint removal on electrical components and tooling. Specs: Highly durable; features uniform hardness and dimensionality.

Applications: De-burring aluminum die castings (removing flash up to .020"), stripping paint and removing powder coatings without damaging substrates (tooling, paint hooks, etc.). Specs: Very low Rockwell B hardness of 20 - 30 HRB. By leaving a very fine film layer on work objects, zinc provides additional corrosion resistance.

Applications: Shot and grit are the products of choice for cleaning in every type of wheel machine as well as in blast rooms where nozzles are employed in air blasting. Shot is generally employed in wheel machines where smoother finishes are required. It is also used in spin blast and conveyor applications when no rebound is present. Grit works best in tumblast applications where the eccentric rebound aids coverage. Airblast applications work best with high hardness grit for fast cleaning. Specs: Shot and grit are available in various hardness categories. Shot is stocked in a 41 to 50+ HRC range. Cast steel grit is stocked in three hardness ranges: HRC 40 - 51; HRC 54 - 61; and 60 HRC minimum. Both are available for immediate shipment.
