Silicone Grease

Silicone Grease and Silicone Compounds from PolySi G-MAN Lubricants offer excellent dielectric properties, extreme high and low temperature capabilities (-100-400 F), water resiliency, and oxidation resistance.

These characteristics make our PolySi G-MAN Silicone Greases excellent for lubricating, coating and sealing plastic and rubber parts. The silicone based materials reduce friction and provide long lasting lubrication not found in traditional lubricating materials. PolySi G-MAN Silicone Greases are also organic and non-hazardous.

Silicone compounds by PolySi G-MAN Lubricants are grease like lubricants containing silicone fluids and inert silica fillers. Silicone compounds are resistant to oxidation and thermal degradation, and maintain their properties over a wide temperature range. The PST-500 Silicone Compound Series is designed as release agents, and may be used as o-ring assembly lubricants, non-conductors of electricity, non-curing sealants and as assembly lubricants for plastic and rubber parts. Silicone Fluids from PolySi G-MAN Lubricants perform under the most extreme industrial conditions and over a wide range of temperatures. Silicone fluids resist salts, dilute alkalis and acids, and resist harsh chemicals, fuels and solvents. They also resist evaporation, oxidation, and radiation; they are non-carbonizing, and inherently inert.

The range of silicone fluid viscosities, from 1cst- 600, 000 cst, provide many alternatives to solve your lubricating needs. Silicone fluids can be formulated into greases or pastes, depending on your application. The fluids include dimethylpolysiloxane, methylphenyl fluids, and alkyl blends. PolySi Dielectric Grease Tubes
PolySi G-MAN Silicone Dielectric Greases and Non-Silicone Dielectric Greases are considered electronically neutral. These materials neither hinder nor promote the electrical performance of an existing system. The real goal for grease in an electrical interface is the ability to control two variables: fretting and corrosion. Fretting and corrosion cause more damage to stationary interfaces than any other failure mode. For this reason, lubrication of the interface is needed to prevent the corrosion caused by oxygen and mitigate the fretting and micro-movement in electrical connections. If metals are mated for an electrical application, grease will make the connection last. PolySi Technologies offers silicone and non-silicone dielectric greases.

PolySi G-MAN Damping Greases are a cost effective means for fine tuning tolerance, motion control, noise control and vibration in mechanical and electro-mechanical instruments. Damping greases, also referred to as motion control grease or noise control grease, reduce wear, seal out moisture and dust, and enhance motion control. A damping grease allows instruments to be more exact and operate smoothly. Using the right damping grease can reduce engineering and production costs, while enhancing quality and performance. Perceived quality is everything, and the feel of a part can greatly impact customer satisfaction.

Have you ever used a camera with a manual zoom lenses? The control you feel is not precision gearing but rather a damping grease. The damping grease actually reduces the amount of machining needed to correctly operate the gearing, thereby reducing product cost.

The accuracy of a variety of instruments, including medical equipment, can be dictated by the quality of the damping grease used in the instrumentation. In many industries, plastic gearing is replacing metal gearing for weight and cost reasons. The limitations of plastic and plastic gearing increase the importance of selecting the right damping grease.

The selection of a damping grease will depend on the temperature range of the application and the type of feel the designer wants the device to have when operated. While standard grease is slick, a damping grease is designed to be more sticky, so that force is needed to move through it.
