Leather Splitting

Precision Blades Leather Splitting blades are unique in their manufacturing process. These blades were specifically designed for specialty applications such as splicing leather. This unique blade may also be used for thin cuts of re-bond, foam, rubber, packaging materials, insulation, carpet re-cyclying, textiles, and cork. This blade is the perfect choice for skiving and peeling.

Leather Splitting knife blades possess a high carbon content, mined from European ore. The unique metallurgical structure of our steel is exclusive to Precision Blades, resulting in holding the knife edge longer than other products in the market. Precision Blades pays particular attention to Leather Splitting welding process, which insures the weld hardness is the same as the blade's hardness. At the same time our welds deliver strong bond, which withstands higher feed rates, and provides extended blade life. The finishing process includes inductive heat tempering, to increase material hardness, then a final polishing process is implemented to insure proper, precise tracking.

Precision Blades Wide Band knife blades are specifically designed for specialty applications, including cutting re-bond, foam, rubber, leather, packaging materials, insulation, carpet re-cycling, textiles, and cork. There are 3 separate types of Wide Band styles:

Precision Track (PT) - Provides minimum deflection and blade movement.

Supreme Track (ST) - Higher degree of tracking, polishing, and specialty weld processing in the finishing process.

Ultra-Supreme Track (UST) - Ultimate trackingpolishing which eliminates deflection and blade movement specifically when cutting very thin material.

Special Notch

Precision Blades Special Notch blade was designed as a modified knife edge with a small serration (notch) every . The notch promotes a more aggressive cutting edge than the standard knife edge, while providing a clean cut of the material. Special Notch may be used on machines with or without sharpening stones, however, grinding stones are recommended since they will keep the blade sharper and extend blade life.

V-Tooth

Precision Blades V-Tooth products are the perfect choice when cutting soft to medium materials including foams, plastics, rubber, packaging materials, etc. V-Tooth cuts more aggressively than a knife edge blade. However, if used on a machine with grinding stones, the stones should be disengaged. The most popular standard straight V-Toothed blade is 14 tooth. V-Tooth is also available with the more aggressive conventional type tooth which should be considered when cutting denser foams.

Precision Blades Shark Tooth was developed by Precision Blades Product Development Group specifically to cut more aggressively, very dense mineral wool fibers made from basalt rock and slag. Precision Blades Flex-Back is perfect for general wood processing including contouring, furniture frame cutting, cardboardpackaging material, bubble wrap, etc. Precision Blade Flexi-Back possesses a high carbon content. The blade teeth are milled, rather than stamped producing a sharper more consistent tooth. The teeth are then induction heat-tempered to a high Rockwell hardness, while leaving the back of the blade more flexible. This dual process provides a precision sharpened, hardened tooth that cuts quickly and efficiently through the wood, while the flexible blade back provides greater elasticity, dramatically extending the life of the blade. For the furniture cutting process, it is recommended that every tooth be set (ETS). Flexi-Back is available in 6 different widths from 18 to 2, .025.032.035 thicknesses (depending on width), and 7 different pitches ranging from 3 to 24 Pitch (TeethInch).

Pallet Band

Precision Blades Pallet Band is the perfect blade choice for pallet manufacturing. The high carbon content offers superior cutting performance, coupled with unrivaled fatigue resistance. Pallet Band possess precision milled teeth, rather than stamped producing a sharper more consistent tooth. The teeth are then induction heat treated to increase the hardness which provides extended blade life. Pallet Band tolerates higher feed pressure, allowing the cutting of more raw material in less time than using traditional manufacturing technologies. Every other tooth has a light set with the center tooth being straight (Raker) to clean out the chips as the saw passes through the wood. The recommended product for Pallet Band manufacturing is 1 to 1 12 width, .035 to .042 thickness, and 6 or 8 TeethInch (TPI).

Wire Cutting Blades

Precision Blades Wire Cutting blades are an alternative to using steel blades when cutting various materials including expanded polyurethane foams, extruded polyester, rock wool, foam resins, and calcium silicates.

Wire Cutters are used on specialized wire cutting machines offered by many band saw manufacturers. These machines utilize a narrow, interwoven, roughened (abrasive) steel wire which cleanly cuts through many materials like a knife. Their chemical makeup is a high carbon steel content. Precision Blades' Wire Cutters are extremely durable, providing longer life than standard band saw blades and can cut through even the densest materials.

Precision Blades manufactures Linear Blade Guides for all OEM manufactured machines. Linear Stripper Guides are made from heavy gauge steel construction with widths from 1 to 4, and any length depending on your needs.

Precision Blades welds the top and bottom pieces of the guide resulting in a product which will provide a higher quality product versus other manufactures who glue their parts together. Stripper Guides finish is a baked on Teflon coating providing a slick glassy finish for the blade to easily travel on.
