Circular Screw Reclaimer Design The heavy-duty construction of ProcessBarron’s circular screw reclaimers makes it well-suited for biomass-related fuels. ProcessBarron’s circular screw reclaimer construction is engineered based on custom pile height and fuel material weight requirements and is fabricated from abrasion resistant steel. A special abrasion resistant coating protects the barrel from material wear. Circular flights are specially designed to pull the pile down uniformly toward the center chute, and motion sensors monitor proper reclaimer operation. Live bottom screw metering bins utilize single or multiple engineered screws to properly distribute fuel for uniform heat distribution of the combustion processes, and better control of boiler emissions. ProcessBarron custom designs metering bins to minimize or eliminate plugging, and store a specified amount of material to prevent interruptions of fuel feed from the main storage area to the combustion process area. Materials are then metered from the bin with variable speed controlled screws protected by an abrasion resistant ceramic coating or chromium carbide weld overlay. The speed of the individual screws controls the fuel distribution and amount of fuel in the combustion process. Live bottom metering bins and distribution bins are critical to storing, metering, and distributing biomass materials like wood, bark, sawdust, chips, and tires (tire derived fuel or TDF) necessary for a facility boiler or furnace. To strengthen the durability of our traveling screw reclaimers, ProcessBarron applies a protective abrasion-resistant coating of ceramic, tungsten carbide or chromium carbide to the spiral flights.
