Airborne Laser Scanners

  • Model VQ-820-G
Repetitive surveying of inshore waters is becoming more and more essential to evaluate reservoir sedimentation, river degradation, water flow and water level dynamics, structure and zone variations of rivers and riparian areas. This can only be achieved in an effective way by employing high-resolution hydrographic airborne laser scanning. The VQ-820-G Topo-Hydrographic Airborne Laser Scanner is specifically designed to survey seabeds or ground of rivers or lakes integrated into a Complete Platform for Airborne Scanning, simply installed in any type of aircraft platform, e.g. fixed wing or helicopter.

Waveform Analysis Airborne Laser Scanner

  • Model LMS-Q780
Unique features of this instrument include the automated resolution of range ambiguities, typically occurring at large measurement ranges and high repetition rates. The effect of range ambiguities appearing in airborne laser scanning is known as multiple-time-around or multiple-pulses-in-the-air. RIEGLs new generation of airborne laser scanners overcome this limitation by multiple-time-around (MTA) processing.Up to 266, 000 measurementssec on the groundOperating flight altitude up to 15, 500 ft AGLMultiple time around processing:more than 10 pulses (MTA 10) simultaneously in the airFull waveform analysis for unlimited number of target echoesHigh laser pulse repetition rate up to 400 kHzVarious laser power settings for different fields of applicationHigh ranging accuracy 20 mmWide scan field of view up to 60Suited for measuring snowy and icy terrain

Waveform Analysis Airborne Laser Scanners

  • Model VQ-380i
he V-Line 2D Laser Scanner RIEGL VQ-380i provides high speed data acquisition using a narrow infra-red laser beam and a fast line scanning mechanism. High-accuracy laser ranging is based on RIEGLs unique echo digitization and online waveform processing, which allows achieving superior measurement capability even under adverse atmospheric conditions and the evaluation of multiple target echoes. The scanning mechanism is based on a fast rotating multi-facet polygonal mirror, which provides fully linear, unidirectional and parallel scan lines. The RIEGL VQ-380i is a very compact and lightweight device, mountable in any orientation and also under limited space conditions on small fixed-wing aircrafts, helicopters and land based vehicles. The instrument needs only one power supply and provides line scan data via the integrated LAN-TCPIP interface. The binary data stream can easily be decoded by user-designed software making use of the available software library RiVLib. Main Features: High ranging based on echo digitization and online waveform processingHigh laser repetition rate - fast data acquisitionMultiple target capabilityInterface for smooth integration of GPSPerfectly linear scan linesCompact, rugged, and lightweight designIntegrated LAN-TCPIP interface

Topo-Hydrographic Airborne Laser Scanners

  • Model VQ-880-G
The RIEGL VQ-880-G carries out laser range measurements for high resolution surveying of underwater topography with a narrow, visible green laser beam, emitted from a powerful pulsed laser source. Subject to clarity, at this particular wavelength, the laser beam penetrates water enabling measurement of submerged targets. The RIEGL VQ-880-G comprises a high precision inertial measurement sensor for subsequent precise estimation of the instrument's exact location and orientation. A high-resolution digital camera and optionally a additional infrared laser scanner are integrated to supplement the data gained by the green laser scanner. The rugged internal mechanical structure together with the dust- and splash water proof housing enables long-term operation on airborne platforms.Designed for combined topographic and hydrographic airborne surveyHigh accuracy ranging based on echo digitization and online waveform processing with multiple-target capabilityMultiple-time-around processing for straightforward mission planning and operationConcurrent full waveform output for all measurements for subsequent full waveform analysisHigh spatial resolution due to measurement rate of up to 550 kHz and high scanning speed of up to 160 scanssecIntegrated inertial navigation systemAdditional, fully integrated infrared laser scanner (optional)Integrated digital camera(s)Compact and robust housing compliant with typical hatches in aircrafts and with stabilized platforms
