The plastic strap configuration has a sensor potted to the back side of a copper plate and a foam pad creates compression when the strap worm drive is tightened. The final result is a good thermal transfer with pipes that range from 2 to 5 inches in diameter. sensing element is double encapsulated to avoid sensor failures caused by moisture infiltration.

The standard outside air configuration is based on an European style enclosure that locks out moisture with a gasketed cover and watertight fitting. They are designed to be mounted flush to an exterior wall.
