Ideal for microwave and coaxial cable applications Low density (LD) PTFE tape is made from an expanded, pure PTFE designed to achieve low dielectric constant, crush resistance, fast elastic recovery, and high tensile strength for microwave and coaxial cable applications. Besides excellent electrical, thermal and chemical properties, Low density PTFE tape provides reduced signal loss in high performance cables when handling microwave energy in the high frequency (GHz) range. Low density PTFE tape is made through a “stretching” process that results in the product being filled with air, which makes it an excellent insulator for wire and cable where high signal speeds are required. This process also reduces its weight, adding value to aerospace and satellite applications.

RELIC WRAP PTFE Packaging

Protective Tape & Film for Archival Packaging and Storage RELIC WRAP™ protective PTFE tape & film is the safe way to package, archive, store and transport fine art, books and artifacts. Made in the USA, RELIC WRAP™ is available in three forms to allow for complete flexibility in your packaging needs. PTFE is an optimal material to provide the protective layer nearest to valuable art. It is inert, soft, flexible, temperature resistant to 550°F (288°C), acid-free and will not stick to the objects it is protecting. PTFE is also a thermal insulator. RELIC WRAP™ is completely unaffected by ultraviolet (UV) radiation, incandescent or fluorescent light exposure. It will not rot or support fungus for mildew. RELIC WRAP™ Packaging Film Ideal for filling voids around artifacts that are non-uniform in size, RELIC WRAP™ is also used as a protective layer that can be wrapped around any form of art, providing a nonstick, colorfast, conforming inner layer before additional packaging layers are applied. RELIC WRAP™ Film is available in rolls up to 10” wide, 0.003” thick, and 1, 000 feet in length. Technetics recommends that our PTFE tapes are stored and maintained in a controlled environment and the shelf life shall not exceed five (5) years. A controlled environment shall be clean and temperature at or below 72°F (22°C) with relative humidity not to exceed 50%. High-performance PTFE shaped to your specifications TEXOLON® brand molded PTFE sheet is available in standard and custom sizes ranging from 0.063" to 8" thick, up to 48" x 48" square. 

Standard PTFE sheet sizes include 24” x 24”, 36” x 36” & 48” x 48”

Using our advanced compression molding process, we can make PTFE sheets with a very high quality surface finish, free from stress cracks and close to the dimension of the end product, maximizing economy and reducing material loss. Additional fabrication, machining, and milling are also offered through our in-house machining facility. All molded PTFE can be furnished with one or more surfaces modified by either sodium ammonia or sodium naphthalene etch to ensure excellent bonding ability. Custom thicknesses for a wide range of applications Our skived PTFE sheets provide unsurpassed precision and cleanliness for a wide range of critical applications, including tank lining in the chemical processing and semiconductor industries, where the prevention of leakage and contamination is vital to material purity and integrity. Skived PTFE sheets and films are available in a wide range of materials and in continuous rolls or cut to your desired length. We offer standard or custom widths to help you reduce scrap and waste. We can also laminate, punch, or die cut all of our skived PTFE sheet and film products. All our skived PTFE sheets and films can be furnished with one or both surfaces etched for adhesive bonding. Custom PTFE solutions to meet critical needs With a focus on customer responsiveness and short lead times, our AMILON™ family of custom PTFE products can incorporate a wide range of fillers including glass, graphite, molybdenum disulfide or bronze, and are easily identified by their distinct colors, including the FDA-approved, white AMILON™ 3. Our applications engineers are available to help you identify the materials that best meets your specific application needs. AMILON™ PTFE products are useful when high-performance characteristics for thermal conductivity, coefficient of friction, compressive strength, wear rate, creep or cold flow are required. They can withstand temperature extremes from -400ºF (-240ºC) to 500ºF (260ºC) and offer excellent abrasion and corrosion resistance. We offer a wide range of standard formulations, but sometimes an “off the shelf” polymer just won’t do. In those cases, our applications engineers will work with you to develop a custom compound to meet your critical application needs. When compared to sodium naptolene processes, our sodium ammonia etching have been proven to be the preferred solution with its superior performance and design to give you the bondable surfaces you need on any fluoropolymer quickly and efficiently. Etched products are available with one or more treated surfaces — including selective spot etching — on continuous roll films, flat sheet or the compound contours of three-dimensional parts. Our equipment can accommodate most commonly used formats, including: Film rolls up to 50” wide Narrow tapes and thin-walled tubing Irregularly shaped items as large as 5 cubic ft in volume, up to 48” x 96” x 34”Experienced with all fluoropolymers Whatever type of virgin or filled fluoropolymer you are using, (PTFE, PFA, FEP, ETFE, PCTFE, PVDF, ECTFE, etc) our innovative etching techniques deliver the precise surface treatment required for an excellent bond every time.
