Universal is a tier two automotive supplier with ISO 9001 approval. The company has extensive experience as a supplier of wire braid and interlocked metal hose for automotive exhaust connectors, light and heavy truck exhaust connectors, and off road heavy equipment exhaust connectors. Other Universal products include corrugated hose and braid for recreational vehicles, and emissions test probes. Universal is a major supplier of sound attenuation hose for automotive hydraulic systems. The company manufactures over five million feet of hose that is cut and capped to produce assemblies of varying lengths.

Universal has unequaled capability to manufacture braided wire as a result of the acquisitions the National Standard Braiding Division and AnacondaAnamet Metal Hose. Both flat and tubular braiders are available that span the full range of braid requirements. You may need some help with some of the terms used in braid speak. Please refer to the Glossary for help. Bronze braid for bronze hose reinforcement. Other braid materials include all grades of austenitic stainless steel, high nickel alloys, aluminum and galvanized steel. Tubular BraidUniversal has tubular braid weaving capability ranging from 0.030" diameter through 30.0" diameter. Wire diameters range from 0.005" through 0.028", carrier selection from 16 through 96, with both plain and diamond weaves. The braid can be furnished as loose mill lengths and braided over customer furnished hose. Technical support is available to custom design weaves to customer specifications. Some of the many applications include; metal hose reinforcement, non-metallic hose reinforcement, automotive hose trim kits, rock and ice shielding of automotive exhaust connectors, rodent protection, electronic shielding and architectural trim.

Universal Metal Hose manufacturers the Instrumentation Tubing product line previously manufactured by Penflex Corporation utilizing the same equipment and made to the same specifications. Applications include protective casing or armor for temperature measuring devices, fiber optics, telephone cord, security devices and rip cord armor. Universal manufactures a similar product, Ultraflex Stainless Steel Casing Bulletin 208 , which has a broader range of interlocked hose.

Anaconda Vibration Eliminators are the origin refrigeration connectors designed to isolate mechanical equipment from refrigeration tubing. Nominal copper tube sizes 18" through 4" with female sweat connections. All bronze construction through 1-14", stainless steel hose and braid with copper tube ends 1-12" and over. All vibration eliminators are cleaned, dehydrated and sealed in plastic film for refrigeration service.
