Backup rings are critical components in sealing applications. They provide protection to o-rings that might be subjected to high pressures, high temperatures or large extrusion gaps.


A backup ring is designed to fit between the o-ring and the extrusion gap and prevent the extrusion of the o-ring. Depending upon the direction of pressure in the sealing application, either 1 backup ring or 2 backup rings may be required. When in doubt, it is always best to use two backup rings to prevent potential o-ring failures.

Our gaskets are produced specifically to provide a flush interface in clamp unions. This flush seal prevents the entrapment of any material in a dead space. Preventing material from becoming trapped greatly reduces the chances of microbial growth and contamination.


The flush interface also reduces potential erosion of the seal and thus increasing the life of the seal which reduces costly downtime and maintenance.

One of our areas of expertise is in the manufacture of a wide array of Lathe Cut Rubber seals, gaskets and washers. We have been producing these products for over 40 years.

We utilize a rubber extruding process which yields a tube that is then installed on a mandrel and heat cured to vulcanize the elastomer. The curing process sets the mechanical properties and the inside diameter of the rubber. After curing, the tube is run through a grinding process which controls the outside diameter and hence radial wall thickness. These tubes are then installed onto a lathe where the finish product is created by slicing to a specified thickness or cut.
