"The 2006 Dom Prignon is a beautifully balanced, harmonious Dom Prignon that strikes an incredibly appealing stylistic middle ground. Rich, voluptuous and creamy, the 2006 shows off fabulous intensity in a style that brings together the ripeness of 2002 with the greater sense of verve and overall freshness that is such a signature of the 2004. Bass notes and a feeling of phenolic grip on the finish recall the 2003, as the Pinot Noir is particularly expressive today. After an irregular summer that saw elevated temperatures in July followed by cooler, damp conditions in August, more favorable weather returned in September, pushing maturation ahead and leading to a long, protracted harvest. Bordeaux Blend
Dark garnet in the glass, this wine is highly aromatic with notes of ripe black cherry, anise, licorice, shaved dark chocolate, rosemary and charred meat. The entry is immense with bright raspberries and fresh cherries, transitioning to a mid-palate of amaretto, sandalwood and hints of high mountain forest and coastal scrub. Textured tannins and notes of toasted coconut round out the palate as the wine finishes with lingering sweet oak.

As soon as a glass is poured, aromatic notes of Luxardo cherries, ripe black plums and raspberries billow, with intricate hints of coffee, mocha and caramel in the background. The entry is expansive with dark briar fruits, cola and cocoa with tannins that are soft and dusty. The wine finishes with a hint of wild cherry and a lingering sweet oak presence.

Abstract is a blend of Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino Grenache, Petite Sirah, and Syrah primarily from hillside vineyards.
