Engine Throttles

tecs Model 5400 Series Electronic Engine Throttle System replaces antiquated mechanical and electrical throttles used in the testing of a variety of engine types. It enables fast changeover between engine types in the same hush house or test facility. Designed, used, and improved for over 10 years in both commercial and military engine test markets, the Electronic Engine Throttle System is compatible with both FADEC and mechanical PLA engines. It is available in a single throttle control version to support thrust engine variants, and a multiple control version to support the turboshaftturboprop engine market. Atecs product development team has now tested and delivered new automated operations functions into five test cells. This will enable our customers to select the manual, automatic or combined control needed in their test control applications.lined-up Digital electronic controls, encoders and stepperservomotor technologies ensure precision control and smooth operation. Problems such as drift, offset, repeatability, temperature effects and vibration susceptibility experienced with other throttle systems in the market have been eliminated. It also eliminates kinks and other routing issues associated with the length of the mechanical cable typically installed in AF32T-9T-10 hush houses. As an additional benefit to military customers, the model 5400 is a direct approved fit into the USAFs AM37T-20 cab used in Mobile Engine Test Systems, as well as all T4 test cell noise suppressors. Celtech and Vital Link also offer throttles that continue to be available and supported. Atec expects to offer legacy and upgrade throttles and control systems for the most popular US Navy engines by mid 2017. Atecs advanced throttle system can also be operated via RS232 communication protocol from a remote control system. The RS232 output provides feedback for the PLA and throttle positions. Communication and remote commands are in ASCII format that make interfacing with user-graphical programs easy. TAtec INTERCOM

TAtec Intercom System allows for low noise, seamless communications between ground personnel, control room personnel, and control cab personnel during off-wing testing with individual volume control for each person. Atec, Inc. developed the ground level intercom system to alleviate the existing problems that the Air Force had encountered with other intercom systems in the T-10 hush houses. These problems included: lack of compatibility with various aircrafts, poor audio quality, and interference of external sources, both electrical and magnetic. The system is 115230 VAC power and includes Com Cords and a Headset for technicians. The Atec Intercom System communicates with the following aircraft intercom systems: F-16 Fighting FalconF-15 EagleA-10 Thunderbolt IIF-22 RaptorT-38 TalonAtec collaborated with the aircraft manufacturers and their intercom providers to develop proper interface with aircrafts. Our system interfaces with the aircraft communications panel during on-wing testing, allowing for a safer testing environment where everyone involved in the engine test can communicate and maintain situational awareness. The intercoms unique ability to noiselessly interface with outside communications systems, as well as aircraft communications panels, provides an intercom kit that can be adapted for multiple uses. The AHT63561 Intercom System is a direct drop-in replacement for all intercom systems in all configurations of the AF37T-10 and AM37T-20 Jet Engine Test Cells, as well as the AM37T-21 Turboprop Engine Test Cells. Starter Gearboxes

he 129-8000-1 Starter Drive Assembly provides a rotational force for starting the F100-PW-100, F100-PW-220E, F100-PW-229 series aircraft engines by compressed air. It is a form, fit, and function replacement for the 103-3018-1 Drive Assembly. It is mounted to the gearbox batwing on ground-based thrust stands, and on the bellmouth mount assembly for overhead thrust stands. The sliding shaft and jaw in the starter gearbox, included in the starter drive assembly, engages a mating jaw installed on the engine. The sliding shaft is engaged by the application of air pressure to one side of the actuator; disengagement is accomplished by switching air pressure to the reverse side of the actuator to retract the sliding shaft and jaw. A government-furnished (GFE) air turbine supplies rotational power to the gearbox. This state of the art air starter is now the recognized preferred replacement equipment for the USAF. Atec has improved our production process to include in process torquing and pre-shipment spin up testing. Mated to our improved coupling, Atec now provides the full solution to no-slip, no-bind air starts.
