Today more than ever, efficient use of energy is very important. The heat pump shown here was designed to pre-heat hot water by extracting heat from ambient air and thereby reducing the amount of energy required to bring it up to temperature typically required for residential use. Our customer had a basic design for this enclosure. In reviewing for fabrication the Bull Metal engineering and production team brought forward some design changes and tweaks to so some details that both improved the fit and function of the finished unit and made for a more cost efficient production of the enclosure. Fabricated from 18, 20, and 22 gage cold rolled steel, this three part enclosure measured 18.00 in length, 16.00 in width, and 15.00 in height. The steel components that make up the unit were initially cut on our shear, and then moved to one of our turret presses to be precision punched creating consistently accurate flat blanks. Integrity of the blanks was verified by both dimensional inspection and through visual comparison with approved template. Parts were then formed on our one of our brake presses.

The rack mounted electronics enclosure highlighted here was designed for use in a building security application. Over our almost 60 years of experience we have fabricated all types of electro mechanical enclosures, including many custom rack mounted designs such as this. Our designs take into account the most cost effective manufacturing processes and materials, always ensuring the structural integrity of a quality enclosure as the finished product. Our broad metal working capabilities allow us great flexibility to meet a wide range of customer specifications and needs. This particular product was fabricated from 18 gauge cold rolled steel. The raw CRS sheets were sheared to size; the blanks were then punched out on a CNC turret press, the individual components were formed using one of our brake presses, and then spot-welded together where required. PEM studs and nuts were pressed in place using a pem-serter machine. The enclosure was finished with the application of a black textured powder coating.
