Our selection of floor preparation equipment provides an efficient and versatile solution for blasting applications. Steel shot blasting equipment can be used to remove years of dirt, grime, rust, and other contaminants as well as old coatings and sealants. In addition to cleaning the surface, the shot blasting equipment simultaneously profiles the floor, preparing it for any subsequent coatings or treatment. Because shot blasting is a mechanical process, no chemicals are used. As such, shot blasting is equally applicable for indoor and outdoor settings including bridges, steel decks, parking garages, and industrial facilities. A self-contained collection system filters the steel shot by removing the dust, particulates, and spent shot, while re-usable shot is recycled back into the system. Most models are self-propelled to expedite the blasting process, and can reach speeds up to 100 feet per minute. Machinery is available in a variety of widths from 8" to 48" to accommodate jobs from wide open areas to tight spaces.

The majority of blasting equipment is powered by a compressed air system that utilizes a pressure or suction mechanism to propel the blasting media. Pressure systems are capable of producing higher media velocities and typically are more efficient than suction systems. In addition to the media delivery method, air-powered blasting systems are available in wet or dry blasting configurations. There are a number of factors that go into selecting the appropriate system for a given application, and our specialists can assist customers in determining the ideal blasting solution for their specific needs. Blasting equipment is available with a number of optional features that allow you to introduce partial or full automation to your blasting operations. Robotic arms, integrated indexing tables, pass-through conveyors, and multi-nozzle set-ups can all be used to increase throughput for production applications. For engraving, deburring, and other detail-oriented work, micro-blasting provides a high level of precision and versatility. Micro-abrasive blasting works in the same way as general abrasive blasting, but smaller nozzle diameters afford the operator tighter control over the area to be blasted. As an alternative to using compressed air to propel the media we offer centrifugal wheel blasting systems. These systems use a mechanical wheel to propel the blasting media. For processes in which this blasting method is applicable, centrifugal wheel blasting systems can provide a significant cost advantage. Our machinery encompasses the latest technology, including laser systems for stripping and coating removal. The use of laser technology for coating removal has matured greatly. It currently provides stripping rates that match or surpass chemical stripping and abrasive blasting, avoiding the huge amount of waste material normally and their related disposal costs. Laser stripping technology helps maximize operational efficiency. It utilizes smaller equipment and eliminates the need for workspaces to have heavy encapsulation. Laser technology also allows various and conflicting processes to occur adjacent to each other, providing shops with the highest levels of efficiency. Lasers can strip urethanes, polyurethanes, enamels, epoxies, alkyds, and powder coats. This includes substrates such as steel magnesium, aluminum, copper, carbon fiber, fiberglass, wood, and composite materials. Laser stripping is highly accurate and does not overheat most substrates. This process is also very precise, allowing users to remove coatings while stopping at the primer coat and not affecting etched substrates. Tests with substrates that have etched surfaces with .002” - .003” profiles showed that coatings could be removed while leaving the etched surface fully intact, requiring no re-etching. Our laser systems cover a diverse array of power outputs, ranging from 20 to over 1000 watts. The laser wattage basically corresponds to stripping rates at a linear rate; for example, a 500 watt system will work twice as quickly as a 250 watt system to strip the same coating. Sizes also vary, and range from easily transportable backpack units to larger systems around the size of an office desk. Fiber optic cabling is also available for very large jobs, allowing the warhead reach to extend to 150+ feet to reach areas a distance away without needing to move the equipment.
