Replaceable Back Elbow

The economical feature of this elbow is in the convenience of replacing the outer radius back, where the most wear occurs, without replacing the entire elbow. Filter Bag Materials

The HorizonPSI SideWinder filter utilizes banks of individual filter racks to separate the material and air. Each rack contains 15 SpiroTubes (spiral formed tubes) that are supported in a single compact frame. The tubes are sonically welded to ensure airtight construction. The 1.02" diameter of each SpiroTube provides an optimal relationship between the total unit area and the open area between the tubes. This decreases face velocities and increases airflow in four directions between the elements, enabling better control of the air stream velocities and increased dust release capacities. The one-piece self-supporting SpiroTubes are made of spun bonded polyester media laminated with an expanded PTFE membrane. This filter media can operate in temperatures up to 176 degrees F. The fluidizer pads are typically operated by pulsing the air on and off. The actual SCFM is calculated by multiplying the Pulse “On” Time In Seconds by the air flow at the supply pressure times the number of pads utilized. A typical example would be that of a hopper requiring (4) pads with an on time of 2 seconds and an off time of 10 seconds at a supply pressure of 30 PSIG. This scenario would result in a total SCFM requirement of 13.4 SCFM. {60 seconds12 seconds total cycle time = 5 cycles per minute; 5 cycles per minute x 0.67 (air flow at 30 PSIG) x 4 fluidizer pads}. The actual number of pads is dependent upon the application. The Heat Exchanger AA Series removes heat from the convey air without the use of coolant. AA Series exchangers feature a TEFC 230460 VAC, 3 phase motor, a heavy duty cooling fan and an OSHA approved fan guard. The exhaust hood is galvanized steel, and the venturi frame is painted carbon steel. These exchangers are ideal for locations with limited access to cooling water. CORE CONSTRUCTION The aluminum plate-fin core is furnace brazed with alternating finned flow channels. Process gas flows in horizontal channels, and ambient cooling air flows upward through the vertical channels. The process stream enters and exits through rectangular aluminum headers, which are welded to the core. OPERATIONAL CONSIDERATIONS Each process gas passageway is .02 square inches (.25 x .08 inches). The process stream must be filtered to ensure particulate will not obstruct the passages. If necessary, the service side can usually be cleaned with a soapy water wash. Due to their long flow length, the process channels should not be considered cleanable. INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS Pulsating flow, such as that produced by rotary lobe blowers, should be dampened by a chambered silencer. AA Series exchangers dissipate heat from the process stream to the ambient environment. They are designed for outdoor installation. If installed indoors, the area should be very well-ventilated.

The Hopper Fill Valve is a fillpass type diverter. The construction is similar to the HDV and HTV series diverter valves in that the housing, closed end single blade diverting rotor and end plates are machined to tight tolerances. End plates, seals and bearings are protected from the material flow by the diverter rotor hubs and, in addition, food grade lubricant is packed into the void area between the end plates and rotor hubs. This valve is designed to be mounted to the top of a hopper and connected to a convey line. When the rotor is in the diverted position the material in the convey line is directed into the hopper.
